Customers say: Quick response

"I can't say enough good things about Marc and his team! They did a full kitchen renovation. Marc sourced and coordinated with a great GC. They took down walls and reinforced floor joists and installed header beams. All throughout he was professional and so easy to work with. He has a fully comprehensive showroom- one stop shopping! He even does his own stone counter tops, so no waiting long stretches for another contractor. A big renovation requires putting a lot of trust in your contractor. To have someone who does what he says he'll do, sticks to his prices, and you can trust in your home while you're not there went a long way for us. And his commitment doesn't end when the project is over- he is always there to answer questions and stands by his works and follows up if any issues arise. If I have other renovation projects Marc will definitely be my first call. Kim Lubin"

"My experience was mediocre at best with this company. They were very good with starting the work. Towards the end of completion, they had one day that was a no show. I had to call to find out they couldn't come that day. I preferred to get a call from them rather having to follow up myself. The windows they installs were done incorrectly. Water stated to leak into the house and ruined the brand new sheetrock I installed. I would recommend this company for small jobs. They may try to cut corners if you dont keep an eye on them."

"Dan and his team were wonderful to work with. They have a great selection of countertops and they also helped us pick out our finishes such as faucet backsplash and deep sink. We would definitely recommend Dan and his team and plan to use them for our next granite project."

"We had an excellent experience from beginning to end.  We worked with Fernando and was very impressed with the professionalism by him and his workers.  They even did some extra work (sealing) on another stone countertop that we already and did not charge.  I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone who is looking for a thorough job, fair price, and professionalism from beginning to end.

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

The timeline to install countertops largely depends on the materials and the job size. Installing granite countertops takes anywhere from two to seven hours, though complex designs can pass the eight hour mark. Average-sized quartz countertops take two to five hours to install, though most pros will recommend a 24-hour settling period. Marble, on the other hand, is finicky and can take up to two whole days to install. No matter how you slice it, however, a professional is going to complete the job much quicker than an amateur.

Porcelain countertops have a fairly long life span, sometimes lasting for decades. Depending on how much wear and tear you put your countertops through, it could last 25 to 50 years. But be warned, porcelain is also prone to cracking, so as long as you take good care of it, you’ll have those countertops looking brand new for years to come.

Yes, Corian® and other solid surface materials can be cut with standard woodworking tools, such as a circular saw or a jigsaw. However, it is crucial to use the correct type of blade to avoid damaging the material.

For a circular saw, a tungsten carbide-tipped blade is required; a triple chip grind blade is highly recommended. For a jigsaw, you should use a fine-tooth down-cutting blade. Do not use blades designed for cutting wood, as they can cause microfractures that weaken the edges of the countertop. A diamond blade is also unnecessary, as those are designed for harder materials like natural stone, which Corian is not.

After cutting, the edge will be rough. It is essential to sand and smooth the cut edge to prevent microfractures, which can eventually compromise the integrity of the countertop.

Onyx countertops are naturally porous, absorbing liquids and staining easily without proper care. Regular sealing every 6 to 12 months is essential to keep them looking their best. Daily maintenance includes wiping up spills immediately and avoiding harsh cleaners or acidic substances that can etch the surface.

You can cut food on tough, scratch-resistant granite countertops. However, these hard surfaces can quickly dull your knife blades, and continual cutting in the same spot can eventually lead to marks forming and compromising the protective sealant. As with any countertop material, it’s always best to use a chopping board.
