"Words can not explain how happy I am with the work done by All Around Renovations!! We worked with Michael using a construction loan and what I thought was going to be crazy stressful to manage was not in the least. Between the bank and Michael, everything stayed on track and within budget. Michael took my vision of what I wanted it to be and made it tens times better. Along the way, he also made suggestions as to how to improve certain things, and I couldn’t have been more grateful for that. I am so happy with the outcome of my “new” but “old” house - it looks so amazing. Most of all, I can’t wait to cook in my AWESOME new kitchen. Even though most nights I despise cooking, my kitchen is so pretty that I might actually start to enjoy it. I highly recommend All Around Renovations! Everybody was nothing but professional from day one, and it made the stressful process of home construction for me that much easier."

"The father-son team of Jack and Dominic gave us a great price for a complete remodeling of our bathroom and significant renovation of the kitchen.  The price was inclusive of granite countertop, something that we initially thought would not be within our budget.  Jack and Dominic did all the work themselves.  We found them to be responsible, friendly, and very professional.  They did a great job while in the process keeping our home clean for our family.  They also removed all the trash after they were done.  We really like our new kitchen and bathroom, and would gladly hire Jack and Dominic again for future projects.

Home Building questions, answered by experts

The primary reason homes have crawl spaces is so the foundation can reach down below the frost line to avoid dangerous soil movement and structural damage when the ground freezes. They’re more popular in colder climates where the ground freezes down to a few feet, and slabs are most popular in warmer areas where there is no frost line. Crawl spaces also provide a space for utility lines to run where they’re at less of a risk of freezing.

Modular homes can be a great investment, especially for those who find the prices of stick-built real estate too high. Modular homes are usually much more affordable because they’re mass-manufactured and then assembled on-site or delivered mostly assembled. If they’re installed properly and by professionals, they can last for between 50 and 100 years, potentially making them an outstanding investment.

Builder-grade is one of two types of stock cabinets, whereas semi-custom designs allow homeowners some control over the color, finish, or hardware on their cabinets. Stock cabinets are sold in construction-grade and builder-grade designs. Construction-grade cabinets are usually made from inexpensive medium-density fiberboard, which is prone to moisture damage, whereas builder-grade models are a step up with higher-quality materials. Construction-grade designs are the most common type of cabinets in America.

While some highly experienced homeowners can frame a house independently, it is not advisable. You will need ample carpentry experience, a team of helpers, and professionals to sign off on your work to meet local building codes. For the safest outcome, we recommend buying or building a house with the guidance of professionals.

A green home is one that focuses on conservation, with the goal often being net-zero carbon emissions and self-sustainability. It will often include some kind of self-generation equipment, like solar panels or a small wind turbine, high-efficiency electrical components and mechanicals, and high-quality insulation and air sealing to reduce the loss of conditioned air. Many green homes also include xeriscaping or rainwater collection to cut down on drainage and water consumption.
