"I have had a great experience with the services from Master Attic! I contacted the company, for an insulation installation service for my attic. Robert, and his team, were punctual and professional. They came on time, gave a brief consultation after reviewing the space, and completed the work in a timely matter. Not only did they install the insulation in to my attic efficiently, but they also cleaned and sanitized the place after, and removed any pests and rodents! Would highly recommend Master Attic, and Robert, to anyone who needs insulation services done! They were friendly, professional, and really cared about the quality of their work, and the safety of my home. They also went the extra mile, to clean up and make the space rodent-free! There have been no issues throughout the service. 5 STARS!"

"They sprayed foam insulation in a 12x12 shed that was being renovated so the walls were open to the studs. They were the only company willing to take a small job. Thought the price was a bit high but they were prompt, efficient and clean."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Cracks, water damage, and holes from fixtures or impact.

You should stagger drywall sheets to help prevent cracking. The joints between drywall sheets are the weak spots, so if you install drywall with seams aligned, you’ll create weak lines that run across the length of the wall and extend from floor to ceiling. But when you stagger drywall, the solid sections of panels will support the joints. This can prevent seams from cracking or separating due to fluctuating temperature and humidity, vibrations from movement inside the home, and gravity.

Very little. One inch of water can stain walls, warp wood, and create a perfect environment for mold growth. One to two inches of water can do significant damage to drywall, insulation, and electrical systems. Anything over that is considered an extensive flood, often resulting in severe structural damage.

This depends on how much plaster is applied and in how many layers, but a decent estimate is around 150 square feet. If you are applying only two coats on a small wall, there is a chance you may only need one or two gallons for the entire project. If you are plastering a large living room wall with high ceilings, using one of the more involved techniques–like Scagliola–that requires several coats, expect the project materials costs to add up quickly.

Although they are used for similar tasks, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum and is primarily used for large-scale projects like taping and finishing seams on new drywall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.
