"Absolutely the best moving company that I have ever worked with. They not only used pads to protect the contents, they shrink wrapped each item. They were and are the best moving company I have ever seen. Thank you Andy and the amazing crew."

"I had a local move from New Haven, CT to Hamden, CT, and the whole process went smoothly. The movers arrived on time and stayed organized throughout the day. They handled my furniture carefully and made sure everything was secured properly. Unloading was done without any confusion. Nothing was damaged during the move."

"Bryan, Josie and their team were great to work with on every project. I started using their services 3 years ago when they were recommended by a local realtor after the contractor that was supposed to get our new home in NJ ready for our arrival from Atlanta was a no show. We had never met on site to do a walk through so everything was done by phone but when we arrived we walked in to what had been a falling apart house that had been empty for at least 3 years and it immediately felt like home. We were worried it wouldn’t be possible with the short notice and lack of a true game plan but they were easy to communicate with, dependable, patient and quick to catch the curve balls that were thrown at them. I am not sure what we would have done without them because we were in a, there’s no turning back now situation and we were moving up to move my mother in law in with us after she had a stroke and a heart attack so it was very stressful to think we may not have a livable home when we got here. Since then they have revisited my home to fix plumbing that we weren’t able to tackle before the move and they have opened up a door way and built a staircase between two buildings for us so that we could expand our business and they were just as wonderful to work with as they were the first time around. I can’t recommend or praise them enough!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

It is generally worth moving a shed if the structure is in good condition, you have space for it at the new location, and the cost to move it is less than the cost of buying or building a new one. You should weigh the pros and cons, particularly for long-distance moves where transportation can be expensive. If your shed is in disrepair or the relocation cost is too high, it likely isn't worth moving, and installing a new shed at your new property may be a better choice.

Once you complete the moving process, you’ll have to transition into paying for your new living expenses, including monthly rent or mortgage payments. You should also consider the cost of property taxes, utilities, and new furnishings for your home.

If you are hiring professional movers, their company will handle any permits and similar arrangements. But if you are renting a truck to move yourself, you may have to pay permits when moving across state lines or away from a specific city or town. Research your move and its requirements as you plan. Most states, cities, and even rental companies offer useful information about what permits you may need.

It’s important to never lay a flat-screen TV on its side when moving. Weight can damage the fragile screen, and falling objects are a risk. Always place your TV upright between other large flat objects so it isn’t crushed when the load shifts on a turn. Use moving blankets to pad the space between the objects.

Shared shipping is the cheapest way to move items overseas.
