"Alex is a true craftsman, his knowledge and attention to detail was amazing. He's very meticulous and took the time to do things correctly. I was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge of windows and how to take them apart, replace the glass and put them back together. When he was finished, it was hard to tell the window had been removed from the frame. If you are looking for someone to repair windows, casement in my case, I would definitely recommend getting a quote from Alex and Wet Seal. And he replaced the glass for a fraction of replacing the whole window"

"Everyone I dealt with was professional, polite and treated me like a valued customer. The Salesman, David, was thorough in explaining the product the company offers for my project. Bill coordinated the final measurements and the installation crew. I was not expecting the work to be done until early November. It was done October 21, 2020, weeks early. The installation crew, Ivan and Vito, were clean, professional and installed my six windows in a half day (replacing original windows from 1937 when the house was built). They were very careful of my outdoor plants and interior belongings. They thoroughly cleaned up and replaced the blinds hardware they had to remove to do the job. You'd be hard pressed to know they were even there. They were professional and true craftsmen. I cannot be happier with the quality of the windows or the service provided by ProEdge Remodeling by Custom Built. They are worth every penny I paid and they look so natural. I highly recommend this company and their quality windows to anyone who wants windows to truly last a lifetime, and then some. Home Advisor, Thank You for suggesting this company. I couldn't be more satisfied."

"I liked that there was no nonsense. Their salesman was straightforward and the price was fair. We were also impressed with the installers. They installed all the windows in 1 day and they look great. I'm happy I chose them."

"These guys are far cheaper for doors than the big name players in the Harrisburg area. Don't hire anyone on the west shore without getting a quote from these guys! They are very thorough in their process and do a good job matching colors to your existing trim, both inside and out. The order was backed up a few months due to COVID, but that's beyond their control. Their installers are very professional and they came to my house despite a snow storm bearing down, which I appreciated. My only complaints are they missed the seam with the bead of caulk they put above two of my doors so I had to fix it when I went to pain the wood trim about a week later. Not a big deal, but it's annoying because the assistant did those two and he was just too lazy to use a step ladder to make sure he was hitting the seam. The caulk was floating about a half an inch above the seam on my door frame. The other complaint is they replaced the fake columns by my front door (I forget what they're officially called) and they look stupid. The salesman told me they would match the ones I had (except for being plastic instead of wood; which was good because mine were rotting) but he never showed me a picture (shame on me for not asking!). Well, they don't match and they look like they're floating in the air because there's nothing at the top or the bottom except flat white plastic. The good news is they are coming next week to replace them at no cost. Overall, I'm very happy with Castle and will likely use them when the time comes to replace my windows."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Glass tile can cost as much as or more than other durable tile types. When choosing the right tile for you, knowing the advantages and disadvantages of each can help you make an informed decision. The pros and cons of glass tile include:

Pros

  • Light-reflecting to add brightness

  • Waterproof and mold-resistant

  • Made from recyclable materials

Cons

  • High cost compared to similar and more durable materials

  • Usually requires professional installation

  • More easily scratched compared to materials like ceramic and porcelain

Yes, you can replace just one pane of glass in a sliding glass door, but you may need to contact the door manufacturer directly to get the proper dimensions of the pane. It’s also worth checking your door’s warranty, as various parts may be covered for a particular timeframe, so you may not have to pay for the replacement pane. But consider the condition of the rest of the door. If the door is old or in bad shape, replacing the entire door is probably more cost-effective.

You should avoid multi-surface cleaners, bleach, and any cloth or scrubbing material that has a rough surface when cleaning mirrors. Multi-surface cleaners and bleach will get smudges and debris off of the glass, but they more often leave behind cleaner residue because they don’t evaporate like a glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol. Additionally, any abrasive material or even the scrubbing side of a sponge can scratch your glass or coatings on the glass, gradually making the mirror look hazy.

Rubbing alcohol on its own will not remove scratches from glass. You can, however, combine rubbing alcohol with baking soda—in a one-to-one mixed ratio—to create a paste that will help get minor scratches out of glass.

Start by attaching the mirror to a wall stud if possible. Next, use appropriate hardware for the mirror's size and the wall material. That could look like drywall anchors, toggle bolts, or self-drilling anchors to ensure a strong hold. Additionally, D-rings or hanging brackets are more secure than a nail. You can also use mirror adhesive to secure small or larger mirrors with a vanity as a base.
