"Ryan did an excellent job. He even purchased some tile with his own money to correct some cuts he did not like. Work was timely and very clean. Would recommend him to anyone."

"When Steven first looked at the project he was detailed and took the time to assess the type of tile and style install. We discussed grout lines and step by step installation process and he put me at easy and took the mystery out of doing the project. He removed my existing ceramic style and also explained in detail how that would be done. Steven and Joe had great personalities and were easy to deal with, approachable and they were open to feedback. As a homeowner you want every phase of the project done well and their skill level was exceptional they installed porcelain tile planking using a random pattern and the end result was very level and smooth. They left the jobsite very clean upon completion. The quote was on target and not unexpected costs."

"Marlon and Leo did a flawless job on the tile work for my bathroom renovation. Marlon initially told me the job would take 5 days but he managed to finish the job in 3 and a half days ahead of schedule. The price was also very reasonable. Cleaned everything up, brought all of the debris outside and finished ahead of schedule. Marlon did all of the most/all of the tile work and Leo did the plumbing and installed the frameless glass shower door. Both of these guys were extremely hard working from start to finish. Five stars is not a high enough recommendation for this company. I want to give them 10 stars! I will not hesitate to use them again for any future tile work needed. Thanks guys!!"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

For professional labor and materials, it would cost between $6,000 and $28,000 to install 1,000 square feet of Saltillo tile flooring. If that’s out of your budget, you could consider laying the tiles yourself or choosing a less expensive type of flooring. For example, vinyl flooring costs just $2 to $7 per square foot, so for a 1,000-square-foot space, you’d pay $2,000 to $7,000.

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

Natural stone floors, especially pebble-style tiling, are one of the least slippery options for a shower floor. Natural stone has a texture to reduce slickness, and pebble-shaped tiles add more visual and textural contrast while reducing slippage. Vinyl tiles are also designed with anti-slip texture for added safety. If you have a slippery tile, be sure to add a grippy shower mat to reduce the risk of falls.

Tiles last for around 100 years or more. Tiles on backsplashes can last even longer since they’re less likely to crack under foot traffic or from accidental drops, but even tile in high-traffic flooring can last a century or more with proper installation and upkeep. Porcelain tiles are denser and stronger than standard ceramic tiles, so they’ll last longer, often pushing past the 100-year mark.

The grout shade you choose comes down to personal taste and preference. A darker grout will give you a more dramatic and noticeable contrast with the tile around it; however, lighter grout helps create a more uniform look when blending the colors together. Additionally, a darker grout combined with a patterned tile could be overwhelming to the eye, while lighter grout makes the pattern stand out as the main focus.
