"Awesome job by Aaron and his team of Jada, Adrien and Silvio! Aaron was great to deal with and delivered in a timely and professional manner. "Steve and Alex were incredibly great. I was referred by another company when needing a large decorative mirror hung in a dining room. Steve and Alex were extremely professional. Called prior to arrival and were very courteous and did an outstanding installation in record time and with what appeared to be ease and expertise. I would absolutely recommend them and consider the pricing an incredible value for the services provided in my home. Would hire them for this and other glass and mirror installations in the future in a second!"

"Bo is the absolute nicest contractor we have ever met. He was great at explaining what repairs needed to be done and exactly how he was going to tackle them. We hired Bo for grout repair, caulking/sealing and to fix our glass shower door. His work is meticulous, our corner shower looks new again and Bo addressed our biggest concerns about preventing water from leaking to the first floor ceiling. Will only hire Bo for this work go-forward and will recommend to anyone I can."

"Select Basement Waterproofing did a great job. Damon took the time to understand the problem and assess conditions. He designed an effective way to break the job up into phases but with enough of a first phase to keep things dry. Ray and the crew that did the install were better than excellent. Very satisfied."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

The easiest way for DIYers to smooth the edges of cut glass is to use sandpaper. Wearing protective gloves, gently sand the sharp edges smooth using low-grit sandpaper and working up to high-grit sandpaper. You can also use a multitool with a rotating sandpaper cylinder to make quicker work of the project.

The methods outlined here are intended for surface scratches—ones that don’t cut into the glass very deeply. For deep scratches, you should consider a more comprehensive glass scratch repair kit. These kits come with abrasives, polishing compounds, and specialized tools designed for removing deep scratches from glass. If you feel uncomfortable tackling a deep scratch on your own, consider calling a local glass repair contractor.

When glass shatters, larger shards quickly drop to the ground, but smaller particles can go on an airborne journey up to 15 feet from the point of impact. So check under furniture, along the edges of rugs, and in dark corners for glass fragments. When in doubt, vacuum the entire room a few times after thoroughly cleaning.

Options include framed, frameless, beveled, and custom-designed mirrors. Choose based on style and functionality.

You should avoid multi-surface cleaners, bleach, and any cloth or scrubbing material that has a rough surface when cleaning mirrors. Multi-surface cleaners and bleach will get smudges and debris off of the glass, but they more often leave behind cleaner residue because they don’t evaporate like a glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol. Additionally, any abrasive material or even the scrubbing side of a sponge can scratch your glass or coatings on the glass, gradually making the mirror look hazy.
