"James came in promising that he would do a great job. Well my 78 year old aunt paid him cash for the job and he didn’t give her a receipt even after requesting it many times. He keeps telling me that he will email it. He didn’t complete the job. I do not know where to start. The kitchen, he only painted 1 out of the four walls. He didn’t paint the walls to the trim in any of of the rooms The old paint shows through in many areas. He didn’t move a few pieces of furniture and so when we moved them there was an outline of the china cabinet. The stairway he didn’t go up to the ceiling. He was supposed to fix a piece of molding and didn’t. See photos for example. It has been 2 months since he painted the place. I have called many times asking him to come and complete the job. I gave him plenty of time to correct it and finish the job. A couple days shop he even told me he was there but had the wrong code to get in so I gave it to him again and he said he was at the store 5 minutes away. I gave him my realtors number if he needed help. He never went back nor did he contact her for assistance opening the lock. Now I have to hire someone else to complete the job. I also believe he charged me for 4 cams of paint but only brought 3 into the house. On the thing I had heard him tell his worker that was with him to leave the other can. I never saw them bring another can on the ring."

"Project: Interior Painting and Ceiling Repair Cost: $6,800 Work Done: March 2025 (Still incomplete as of June 2025) Overall Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5 stars) At first, things started off well—the contractor was friendly, punctual, and seemed professional. The scope of work included interior painting and a small ceiling patch due to prior water damage. However, the ceiling repair turned into a much larger hole, and the contractor suggested we bring in a plumber—even though the leak had already been addressed. He referred us to a plumber who initially responded via text, then completely ghosted us. We had to hire a second plumber who thoroughly inspected the area (including with a camera scope) and confirmed there was no leak. The painting was mostly completed, with the exception of the ceiling area. We were told to reach out once the plumbing was resolved. I notified the contractor on April 8 that we were ready for the patch to be finished, and he replied that his schedule was tight but he would “squeeze us back in.” As of June 8, we’ve heard nothing further. I followed up recently requesting the ceiling paint spec since it was clear we’d need to find someone else. I had hoped for an apology or explanation—something—but instead just received the paint info. Since the painter "finished" the job we’ve noticed multiple issues: • Paint splatters on our carpet • Missed spots on walls • Unpainted trim at the bottom of the front door The total quote was $6,800, and we paid $6,500—holding the final $300 until completion as requested by the painter. Now, I’ll have to spend additional money, which will likely be more then the $300 to patch and finish the ceiling after waiting more than four months. Bottom line: I would not hire this contractor again. The lack of follow-through and poor attention to detail were extremely disappointing."

"We hired Marioni Custom Paining for a pretty large job and they were incredible, start to finish. We had several companies come out to give estimates for the job and they were the most reasonably priced. When we called for the estimate he squeezed me in the day after I called, gave me time to collect my other estimates and he got us on his schedule for the following week once we made the commitment. The job was to remove wallpaper from a large family room, entry way, entrance hall and a very high wall up the stairs. Once the paper was down, the walls were in need of a lot of repair; they needed to be resurfaced from top to bottom, left to right. They did this beautifully. They even filled in two old phone jack areas that were a total eyesore, and it’s like they were never even there now. When they got to the painting, I was shocked at how smooth the walls were. The color I picked (Sherwin Williams-Eider White) is a super light gray tone and it was the perfect choice. They finished off the job with fresh coats of bright white on the doors and trim and it looks amazing. This job has transformed the way my first floor looks and it’s beautiful. I can’t forget the crew of three; Karl, Jim and Pete. They arrived on time each day and worked quickly and efficiently. They seemed to have a checks and balances system and worked very well together. They were super nice, professional, kept a neat workspace, cleaned up and contained their supplies at the end of each day, and even gave attention to our dog and cats who were being nosy and sometimes in the way. We have more work to be completed in the future and we’ll definitely have them back. I highly recommend Marioni Custom Painting for your next home improvement project!"
