"Excellent. Rich and Eric showed up right on time and proceeded to do a professional job. Trucks are wrapped in Window Genie logos and Eric and Rich were both uniformed with ID's. Rich even offered to wash the outside of the windows being treated for no charge. The day of service it was raining so Rich said Eric will return the next day to wash the outside of the windows. Eric arrived the next day right on schedule and did a fantastic job. It is nice to finally find a company who takes pride in their work, looks professional and follows through on what they promise, customer satisfaction. Will definitely be calling Rich back for future work to be performed."

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

Sandblasting refers to the process of cleaning a surface using compressed air and aggregate. Soda blasting is the gentlest type of this method, but it differs from sandblasting that uses mineral or other aggregate, since sodium bicarbonate breaks apart more easily than other forms of blast media and, therefore, cannot be reused.

You can concrete can be done when it’s wet or dry. However, it’s safer when wet, as harmful dust and chemicals are present. Sanding it when dry is faster, but you’ll agitate more dust and chemicals, meaning you’ll need to be more careful.

The best way to sand a deck is by cleaning it, sanding the boards and stairs with 60- or 80-grit sandpaper, and sanding the railings and posts with 80-grit sandpaper. You should sand in the direction of the wood grain to avoid damaging the timber. When sanding your deck, use medium pressure and aim for an even sand. Pressing too hard with a sander can damage decks, as most are softwoods.

Regular sealing and repainting help maintain the restored surface’s durability.

Sanding and pressure washing serve different purposes in deck maintenance, so one is not necessarily better than the other. Pressure washing is ideal for annual cleaning to remove dirt, grime, mold, and mildew. Sanding is a deeper restoration method used to smooth rough surfaces, remove an old finish, and prepare the wood for a new coat of stain or paint. The ideal process for refinishing a deck is to first clean it (with a power washer), then sand it, and finally apply the new stain or finish. While cleaning should be done annually, sanding and staining are typically needed only every one to three years.
