"Modern did a thorough repair job including significant structural repairs on 2 levels of the home.   They documented their work extensively in photos (at my request) for any future  homeowner.  Modern was careful to tape off non-work areas of the home (for dust control) and they protected my newly redone hardwood floors with full tarp covers.   They cleaned up when job was complete and even repainted repaired areas.  They were proactive and treated for termites in one area, in case they returned!  I consider myself to be a discriminating consumer, Modern's work was superb.

Recently I found a dead fox in one of my feral cat houses.  After checking on Angie's List I called this vendor the morning I discovered it.  He gave me the price over the phone and his nephew arrived two hours later to removed the animal.  His nephew was very professional and polite.  I really appreciated their prompt and courteous response.  Hope this never happens again, but if I ever need this type of service in the future I would definitely call them.

"The attention to detail insures the lawn and landscaping is maintained at a high level. They recommend fertilizer and seeding treatments when needed. They are always looking out for things beyond their specific area as well, like recently they noticed one of the wires was knocked down and alerted me to it. Great value."

"They came multiple times to spray for a cockroach infestation. Technician who came was polite and courteous. Took several sprays to control the problem, but they kept coming back until the job was done."

"I had a bird in the microwave vent. Bill Kidd came to my house on a Sunday and evaluated the situation. Told me what had to be done and gave me an estimate. I agreed to both and Bill returned on Monday and completed the project very much to my satisfaction. Pointed out a couple of other problem areas which will be addressed in the very near future.. I highly recommend Bill and he is a professional who knows his work. I am so happy that his wife responded to my call for "Help" and before you know it, along came Bill to resolve the bird of paradise project!. Thank you Bill and company."

" I called about 1 pm and he was here, at work, by 5pm!  I have used his services before and I knew he would do an excellent job on a complicated task, but I did not expect immediate service!
He blew out and vacuumed the duct.  He cleaned up all the lint and mess.  Once again, he was extremely pleasant and competently professional.  He tested the dryer and unfortunately, the thermostat apparently had been ruined by a high interior heat.  I will have to call Mr. Tim,  excellent appliance repairman.
Before we began with Keystone, we had been plagued by birds nesting in the dryer vent. The last time he was here, he installed a sturdy cage over the opening and we were pleased to see that no birds had invaded the duct.
He finished the job promptly and noted on the statement that the vent should be cleaned every year.  Now I know just how accurate his prediction is and I will try to get the call in before the dryer has suffered damage.
I am so pleased with his work, his attitude and his pleasant manner that I can recommend him without reservation   I will continue to rely on his service.

"The service went fine. I was told later on by a roofer that I had a crack in the chimney. I figured they would have taken care of that. The technicians were very nice and great to work with. We discussed additional work but I did not go through with that. I had no problem scheduling the deal and they came on time."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Popular nesting areas outside of a home include eaves, porches, gutters, and chimneys. However, some birds can make their way into your attic or ventilation systems. A reputable removal service will inspect your home's interior and exterior for any evidence of roosting and nesting birds while they prepare to remove them.

You can take multiple approaches to keep animals out of your edible landscape. You can use natural repellents such as mint and cayenne pepper to deter them from your garden. You can also build a fence (or opt for a privet hedge) or keep the most enticing plants in a sectioned-off area. The most efficient method of keeping your four-legged guests at bay is to determine what animal it is and create a customized plan for them.

They can have a deterrent effect on birds to some extent. The reflective surfaces of these objects, such as aluminum foil strips, CDs, or reflective tape, create flashes of light and movement that can startle or confuse birds temporarily. However, some birds can become accustomed to these visual disturbances over time and might adapt their behavior accordingly. For a more sustained solution, combining shiny objects with other deterrent methods shared here is often beneficial for creating a more comprehensive and effective strategy for bird control.

Generally, spring is the best time to hire a pest control service, but it also depends on when you notice the infestation. Insect pest numbers are lower in spring before they hatch, making the extermination and prevention process more manageable as nests and eggs of future pests are eliminated. However, don’t hesitate to hire a pest control specialist when you spot signs of a problem.

Keeping your pool cover clean is a good way to keep smaller animals from running across it or using it as shelter. Small animals may use leaf debris on top of the cover to hide. Cleaning also removes nuts that may fall from a nearby tree that could otherwise be a tempting snack for some animals, like squirrels.
