Yes, you should prime a fiberglass bathtub before painting it. The primer improves the paint’s adhesion, strengthening and increasing the durability of the final result. While you can buy primer separately, bathtub and tile refinishing kits come with a primer designed to work with the paint and hardener.

While you could conceivably select any paint finish, paintable wallpaper tends to look its best with a flat or eggshell finish. A higher gloss paint might make the texture pop more, but it can look a bit dated once the paint has dried. And don’t worry about whether a water-based latex paint will loosen the wallpaper. Paintable wallpaper has a coating that prevents this from happening, so using latex paints without applying an oil-based primer to seal things first is fine.

In most cases, you have to sand crown molding before painting. This is due to the nature and design of molding. It’s not a flat wall, so uneven surfaces will be immediately noticeable once that paint dries. Sanding down the surface smooths everything out, leading to a satisfactory result. If the trim is already smooth, such as with new crown molding, you can give it a light sand with 120-grit sandpaper.

The best kind of paint for barns is latex paint because it’s less likely to fade, lasts for a decade, and is flexible. You can also use latex exterior paint mixed with linseed oil in your primer to make it extra durable. 

Epoxy paint is a popular option for concrete due to its durability and stain resistance. You can also use masonry paint, which adheres well to concrete. Acrylic paints are more affordable but not as durable. Concrete stain is another option, which is more durable than paint and won’t peel over time.
