Would highly recommend shining star to anyone looking to remodel kitchen and/or bathroom or general painting needs. I still cannot get over how fast the project went! "We researched for exterior painters on Angi’s List; Home Advisor and also looked through google reviews as well. There are a lot of painters out there, but we did narrow it down to five and obtained estimates from all. We selected Pete of Premier Painting and so happy we did. From the beginning he was timely with his follow up to our calls/emails; he provided an initial estimate based on information and photos and then met with us to do a more detailed estimate (which didn’t change, except for additional items that we decided to include). His estimate was competitive and we just had a “good feeling” that he would be the right fit for us and based on reviews, a good painter. Although we were initially going to be scheduled for Spring of 2022, at the last minute Pete had an opening in the schedule for the end of this season and began in September. His work is great; he sprayed and brushed our home and when he sprayed he back brushed for complete coverage; he is neat; cleans up each day; is organized in his approach on how and what he painted so as the front was done first both trim and body so from the road it looked complete. During the course of his being here, we ended up making some changes in terms of stain treatment for our deck, which resulted in more sanding; adding an item or two and he has always been professional and agreeable. In addition to painting the entire exterior - our deck balusters were all stained brown and he is painting them all white - pretty labor intensive but the finished product is just what we hoped for. For various reasons he ended up painting our home by himself and he is here every day - 6 days a week, weather permitting; is communicative if he won’t be here for weather related reasons - and he even returned our dog when he was leaving and found her down the road. A pleasure to work with; we highly recommend.--"

"Paulo and his partner did an amazing job painting our dining/living room. They also removed the popcorn ceiling that other painters would not touch. They were professional and their work tells it all. The owner also contacted me to make sure I was completely satisfied and if I needed anything touched up after my floor was sanded and sealed. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional great job!!"

"These guys are THE BEST!!! We hired them for a fairly big interior paint job (+1700 sq ft + ceilings). On personal level, they are out-going, friendly and funny. They work well as a team. Ryan came in with a well-thought-through plan of how the job would go, day-by-day...and they stuck to it. The estimate was VERY reasonable, compared to another outfit. (Those other guys started off at nearly twice the price, came down twice (still unable to match RES), and then, when I called them back as courtesy to let them know we weren't going with them, they said "we could have beaten that price and your guys will probably just throw paint around and do a lousy job"...BOY WERE THEY WRONG!) RES gave us enough coats to cover a pretty bad initial painting provided by out building contractor with, by far, better paint. They took great pride in the quality of their labor and it shows in their cut lines. It looks like they were done with very accurate taping, but it was all done by hand...a couple of guys who really know their craft and take the time to make sure they are providing the customer with "the service we deserve." But honestly, I'm not sure that's solely the reason...these guys are self-driven to make sure the job is something THEY can be proud of...and, as noted before, it shows. It took a full week and each night, the house was totally usable and CLEAN!!!...again a feature/service they take pride in. Unfortunately for those looking to have an interior done during the "summer" (Apr to about Oct) you're going to have to wait for these gents...and it'll be well worth the wait!...because they switch over exteriors then and, from what they said, they're booking up interiors for next "winter" already. So plan ahead, give them a shot, and I'll bet you'll be as impressed as we are."

"Troy was very professional. He arrived at the same time each day and put in a full day of work. I needed to have 3 rooms and hallway up and downstairs painted with trim and ceiling. He made a recommendation in the kitchen and I was very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend him for any interior paint work you need to have done. I do not know how long he has been doing this but if any one is looking for an interior painter reasonably priced I could not recommend anyone else"

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Scrape softened caulk with a putty knife or slice hardened caulk with a utility knife. Hard-to-remove caulk generally requires more time exposed to a softening solution, like a commercial product or rubbing alcohol. A few hours to a day later, the softened caulk will come off with the help of common household tools. In many cases, you can grab needle-nosed pliers for caulk with multiple old layers and pull the material off its base.

Yes. It's another reason many people choose to use the spray over an adhesive, as they can change patterns or remove it entirely with ease if they choose. You can use acetone with a rag or a vinegar and water solution (1/2 cup of vinegar to 12 ounces of water) with a cloth to help you scrub away frosted spray glass. NEVER mix these two methods together, though, and always work in a well-ventilated area.

You can apply waterproofing over paint, but you won't get as much protection as you would if you painted the surface with a waterproof paint from the get-go. Not all waterproofing methods are compatible with painted surfaces, and they may not adhere well. This is especially true if the paint is glossy, old, or flaking. Waterproofing sealers are primarily meant to be applied to porous surfaces, like concrete, wood, or brick.

Most handy homeowners can tackle removing texture from unpainted walls. Removing texture from painted walls is a bit trickier. Paint acts as a sealant, so you can’t soften the texture with water. Instead, you’ll have to add a layer of drywall compound known as a skim coat. This process is messy and takes some practice.

Distilled white vinegar can help you remove candle wax from surfaces like countertops. You’ll need to scrape off most of the wax and use the distilled white vinegar to help soften and remove the rest and leftover residue. Keep in mind that while it’s possible, using distilled white vinegar isn’t an effective method for removing wax compared to the methods listed above.
