"Nick was easy to work with. He moved his schedule around to accommodate my plans over a holiday. When he got here he discovered that the ceiling was more textured than he expected. "We had a wonderful experience with Steve on our bathroom remodel. We are fairly new homeowners and this was our first experience with a contractor, and we wouldn't change a thing. He did literally everything - installed a tub, did some beautiful shower tile work, plumbing, painting, electrical work, replaced drywall, window replacement, floor install, and more. Not only was the quality of work impeccable, he made sure to keep in constant contact regarding any unanticipated project changes and how they would impact the schedule and our budget. He showed up on time, kept the space clean, and simply did what he said he would do, when he said he would do it. I'm not sure you could ask for more. There are several things you should not do when installing drywall. Common mistakes include: adding too many screws, over-sanding, not adding backing support, and installing drywall unevenly. You also should avoid screwing into the same place twice, installing Sheetrock with tapered edges on the outside, and making too many joints.

If you're comfortable hanging drywall yourself, you may be comfortable finishing it. But it's worth noting that finishing drywall adds several steps to the process and a lot of waiting time. Hiring a drywall installer may be the way to go if you'd rather spend your time doing other things or are nervous about leaving a rough surface.

A jigsaw is commonly used to cut holes in drywall. It offers versatility and precision, making it suitable for creating circular or irregular openings. When equipped with the right blade, a jigsaw can swiftly and cleanly cut through drywall, making it a good choice for DIY projects.

Depending on the place where the cutting error occurred, you may be able to fix it. Learning how to patch a hole in drywall is challenging, but if you can tape and mud drywall, you can do it. Having said that, patching is time consuming. Early in the installation process, you may find that it’s easier and far less time consuming to just start over with a new sheet of drywall, cutting a new hole in the right spot. You may be able to use part of the incorrectly cut piece elsewhere, so it’s not completely wasted.
