"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"When we purchased our New England 1910 home and found East Coast Construction and Development Inc. to renovate, it was the best experience ever. They delivered everything that they promised and more! Quality and reliability, communication and patience with my ever changing mind! We had the home remodel throughout several rooms. They installed Stainless steel appliances, quartz counter top in kitchen (total gut job!) Installed vinyl replacement windows, engineered flooring, updated bathrooms, tiled shower, brand new carpet and fresh interior paint. We also had a pine wall installed! Came out perfect! "Everything went wonderfully with this company.  They were very professional, listened to exactly what my problem was, and explained to me how they were going to diagnose the problem and/or solve it before doing any actual work.  Once they started, the team (three people came) worked together like a well-oiled machine.  One was in the room with diagnostics, one was at the fuse box looking for possible problems there, and the third went into the crawlspace beneath our house to look at the physical wiring.  Once the problem was found (there was a faulty wire beneath the house that had come loose from the junction box), it was fixed and tested within minutes and another full diagnostic was done to make sure there were no other possible issues.  They cleaned up after themselves very neatly.  They also replaced the light switch with a dimmer switch at no extra cost!  Well within my budget, and came in even lower than their original (FREE) estimate!  I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Bergen County area.

Doors get more sticky in the summer. Contrary to popular belief, doors can also stick in the winter since humidity causes doors to stick during both seasons. However, thermal expansion and humidity in the summer mean that the thermal heat and moisture in the air both play a role in causing a door to stick.

A door swells up when there’s a lot of moisture in the air. Wood doors are porous, and the elements can cause them to expand with humidity and contract with dry air. Prevent swelling by coating the door in weather-resistant paint, which creates a barrier to seal out moisture. Otherwise, go with a water-repellent finish after the fact. On the plus side, this problem will go away once the weather changes.

If a sofa doesn’t fit through the door, try angling it to maneuver it through. You’d be surprised at how often this works. Next, remove the legs and cushions and try again. If that doesn’t work, consider an alternate entry point like a window or a back door. When all else fails, contact a pro.
