"We hired Bob to install an electrical outlet on a separate line for our electric outdoor grill and a 100 cfm exhaust fan our bathroom. No moisture appears on our bathroom mirror and surrounding area. They kept all appointments on time and gave us exactly what we asked for. We would hire Bob again. His men were very courteous."

"Very accommodating and helpful with suggestions when it was noticed that the fan we purchased was defective..our installer came back in the afternoon to install the replacement fan. Check your purchases at Home Depot before you leave the store...our Hunter Fan was definitely returned by a previous customer and then put back on the shelf. The Company and installer handled the job very efficiently and professionally and we would highly recommend."

Customers say: True professional

"Dave stepped in to rescue us from the cold of winter when we first moved into our new (old) home. He installed baseboard and blower heaters after adding a new breaker box and correcting many miss-wires. He installed overhead fans and lighting fixtures. He does professional electrical work."

"Aubrey is great. We set an appointment which he was prompt for. He estimated the time which he was also right on the money, and the work was done neat, clean, and everything tested perfectly. This is the second time I have had him do some work for me and will call him for anything else electrical that I have."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

You may need a permit for a portable generator if you’ll be installing a transfer switch for your primary residence or similar work. Otherwise, a permit for other uses may not be necessary. Check your local building codes or ask a local generator installer for more information about your local regulations.

While natural gas generators are costly, they’re a great option for standby power due to the reliability of natural gas as a fuel source. Unlike other fuels, natural gas is delivered through underground pipes, making outages extremely rare and less likely to be affected by the elements. As long as the area isn’t prone to earthquakes, they offer an unlimited supply of natural gas that doesn’t degrade over time or require storage in tanks.

Yes, installing a generator usually increases your property value because buyers are getting the added peace of mind knowing they’ll be able to maintain power through blackouts. In most cases, you should see close to a 100% return on investment (ROI). Keep in mind that home generators usually need a permanent foundation, and installing a concrete slab will likely raise your property taxes slightly.

Yes, in most municipalities, you will need a permit to install a permanent home generator, including emergency backup, partial-home, and whole-home models. Because these installations involve significant alterations to your home's electrical system and produce exhaust fumes, local governments often require a permit or inspection for safety purposes. A generator permit typically costs between $50 and $250, depending on your location. Your electrician or certified installer can usually handle the permitting process for you, but you will be responsible for the cost. It's a good practice to confirm with your installer that they will pull all necessary permits before work begins.

Energy output depends on turbine size, average wind speed at your site, and system efficiency. A 5 kW turbine in a good wind location can generate 8,000 to 12,000 kilowatt-hours per year, which may cover a large portion of an average home’s needs. Accurate output estimates require a professional wind assessment and a review of your household’s energy usage patterns.
