"BathFitter was fantastic! In one day our ugly shower was transformed into the most beautiful shower! They enlarged it, and remodeled it! It is absolutely Beautiful! from start to finish, with all the work involved it was done by 6 pm. The clean up was fantastic! We used BathFitter from Auburn NH. We had used them before for a tub shower remodel, and could not have been happier! I would recommend them a million times! You will NOT be disappointed! you will never spend money for something so rewarding! Thank you Mike, and the installers! Joan & Tony"

Bathtub Restoration FAQs, answered by experts

When buying caulk, look for ones labeled for tub and tile. These have either acrylic latex or silicone compounds. This allows the caulk to stick to smooth surfaces and prevent mildew from forming.

Resurfacing or refacing extends the life of existing surfaces, saves on replacement costs, and reduces waste, offering a refreshed look with less downtime.

Acrylic bathtubs can last up to 30 years without major issues if they receive the right care and maintenance. They can last even longer but might scratch or stain as they age. The expected longevity is a major factor when investing in a new tub. Cast-iron tubs are the longest-lasting option.

Surprisingly, cleaning an air bath is almost as easy as relaxing in one. Most air baths have a self-cleaning or drying cycle to remove moisture from the inner tubing. This prevents mold and keeps the tub ready for your next soaking session. For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and a soft cloth to wipe the surfaces and periodically clean the air jets as the manufacturer recommends.

Typically, you need to wait two to three days after reglazing before using your bathtub. This allows the epoxy resin to cure properly. However, the exact time can vary depending on the materials used. Some quick-dry epoxy kits cure in as little as 12 hours, while others may have a four-hour cure time, allowing for same-day use. To ensure the epoxy dries correctly, ventilate the bathroom well. Always check the manufacturer’s instructions and consult with your reglazing professional for specific guidance on when it is safe to use the tub.
