"Eric did a fantastic job installing our new bathroom fan. He was courteous, honest, and clearly knows his trade. The fan is quiet and works beautifully. It’s such a relief to find someone reliable and skilled. We will definitely use Angell Electrical again! Highly recommend."

"Ed and his apprentice, Wyatt, were extremely well prepared to do the many different jobs I had lined up for them. Ed started with a very prompt response to my Home Advisor request and an immediate quote visit, followed by a timely emailed estimate. My job was scheduled only a few weeks out and was an agreed upon date and time. They were communicative, punctual and had great time management. Ed contacted me immediately when he was called away to an emergency. They came back to my house and completed the job the next morning!! They were neat and respectful of my home. They cleaned up all they were supposed to and compiled the remainder in easy to remove sized boxes. I would definitely hire them again! Thank you gentlemen!!"

"Everything went perfectly from start to finish. We have high cathedral ceilings in our home that required staging to hang three large, heavy fixtures and it all went flawlessly! Chris and his team were professional, neat, and fairly priced. Highly recommend."

"Estimate included installation of a 30-amp outlet, repair of an existing outside outlet and addition of an inside outlet and switch. They arrived on time and worked efficiently to complete the job with no additional charges above the estimate. They were respectful of property, removed shoes when inside the house and cleaning up any mess. Completely satisfied with the service."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Yes, ceiling fans come with a few other features that help with function, style, and convenience. Multi-speed fans can give you specialized control over the airflow. Consider getting one with an integrated light to save ceiling space. Some ceiling fans come with a remote control that enables you to change direction without climbing a ladder. Of course, you can also consider installing a wall switch to enjoy that convenience.

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

If your home already has wires for a ceiling fan (and optional light kit), then it’s quite safe to wire and install it yourself. Always be very careful to shut off the power before you begin, and confirm that the power is safely off with a non-contact voltage tester before touching anything. It’s also highly recommended to use eye protection, rubberized gloves, and tools with rubber handles to keep yourself safe from electric shock.

Ceiling fans offer multiple benefits for your home. They improve air circulation to prevent stagnant environments and provide cost-effective temperature control, which can reduce reliance on your HVAC system and help lower utility bills. In addition to their functional advantages, ceiling fans can also enhance a room's aesthetic appeal with features like built-in lighting and modern styling.
