"If you're looking for this type of service, don't look any further. IMO this company is the best in New England. We have used their services for hot water heater and gas dryer installs, and now ductwork cleaning. Ben and Dominic did a great job and were very conscientious of our home while doing their work. The photos of before and after the cleaning were amazing and my wife and I can feel the difference in the air quality just after one day. You can't go wrong with Hall's. Don and Nancy"

At S&E Cataldi Heating & Air Conditioning we work hard for your comfort. Over a decades of study and experience have taught us that the right heating or cooling system can improve health of a house and the poeple who live in it. We're serious about comfort, because proper moisture balance means that you will breathe easier and the wood in and out of your home--including your antiques--will be well protected. Chronic moisture balance problems affect "leaky" buildings, making them difficult to dehumidify in summer and heat in the winter. The first line of defense of course, is proper insulation. Clover HVAC technicians are certified insulation and air seal specialists who can do a thorough analysis of the penetration points in your house and stop air leaks cold. Buildings are like the people in them. Both need the right balance of moisture in the air. People have their own natural cooling system--the ability to sweat. Houses need help. S&E Cataldi can set a heating and cooling system's balance to properly regulate interior air. The result? A structure that isn't so dry the wood is cracking or so moist there is rot, and inhabitants who won't develop skin problems from excessive dryness or allergic reactions to mold and mildew.

Armstrong is a family owned and operated air duct cleaning and chimney service business. With over 45 years in business, we are one of the oldest, largest, and most experienced air duct cleaning and chimney service companies in the United States. Our customers range from residential, to institutional. We service many large property management firms, housing authorities and cleaning contractors. Our clients include some of the finest and well-known companies and buildings in Northern New England such as Dartmouth College, Phillips Exeter Academy, University of New Hampshire, Harvard Historical Society, U.S. Coast Guard, FedEx, Target, and Walgreens. This level of achievement only comes with years of hard work and an ongoing commitment to create and adopt industry innovations and standards.

"Repeat customer who has been mistreated. Scheduled a pellet stove service appointment and had to wait a couple of months. The pellet stove was installed a few year prior by Armstrong. Stove was fully functional when tech arrived and when work was wrapped up the stove didn’t work. Tech on his way out mentioned the office would reach out to me with next steps. Dealing with single digits temperatures out door any little thing helps and now have a broken stove that doesn’t work. Two days later I hadn’t heard from their office so I sent an email inquiring what the next steps were. The admin responded stating the operations manager had our paperwork on his desk and that I am on the list. A day after that I decided to call for some information and admin gave me more of the same stating “work order is on my bosses desk, he will get back to you in a couple of days”. After persistence on my part I decided to track down the ops manager and he gave me a long story on why they weren’t communicating and basically stated again I wasn’t top priority. As a customer you shouldn’t feel like you are bothering a business that you just spent a ton of money on to get something fixed that now doesn’t work. Armstrong years ago was different and today my experience is very sour. Maybe too much business has impacted their customer service? Maybe new employee vetting is the issue? Maybe it’s the management? It’s sad to see customer service like this. Please beware.. you will reach out for help and you may or may not get it. Pay quoted money now but you’ll be back burnered the moment something else comes along."

Air Duct Cleaning questions, answered by experts

There are a few reasons your AC is running but not cooling your room. Thermostat issues and dust and debris, which can clog your system, are common problems. It could also be a broken component, such as a compressor, blower fan, or evaporator coils. You’ll need to call a pro to diagnose the issue.

Yes, unfortunately, scorpions do come up through air vents on occasion if they’re not properly sealed. These pests are excellent at finding small openings and may use vents as a pathway to cooler areas inside, especially during hot weather. To prevent this, inspect your vents, seal any gaps, and install fine mesh screens where necessary.

No, not all houses have ducts. It would be safe to say, however, that most modern houses do. The reason is that older houses had boilers in the basement that heated from the bottom up and often vents weren’t built into the house. Another reason is that older homes don’t have air conditioning (because it didn’t exist) and use radiators for heating. Since radiators don’t require ductwork, it wasn’t built.

Air duct cleaning costs an average of $270 to $500 , depending on the number of vents and the total length of the ducts in your home. The type of ducts you have also plays a role since flexible ducts are more susceptible to damage and more difficult and time-consuming to clean properly. Expect higher labor costs for difficult-to-access ducts.

To optimize airflow and energy efficiency, regularly clean vents and replace air filters, schedule periodic professional duct inspections, and seal any visible leaks. Proper maintenance prolongs ductwork longevity and performance.
