"We called Nebraskaland glass yesterday and they scheduled an install this morning for a new windshield. The guys that came out were very professional and polite. The work done was neat and tidy. Since it was an insurance thing, I'm not really sure how much it actually cost. I know it cost me $100. I would call these guys again in a heartbeat. 80)"

"I only use James when I need some work done to my house. He responds fast, gets the work done quicker than just about anyone else I've ever used and seems very concerned with leaving his customers happy."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.

DIY is possible for small projects, but professional installation ensures proper sealing, structural integrity, and a precise finish.

New glass costs anywhere from $3 to $100 per square foot. More specifically, tempered and insulated glass—a common option for sliding glass doors—costs between $10 and $14 per square foot.

Most installations take 1-3 days, depending on the number of blocks and customization requirements.

Installing glass block windows has benefits and disadvantages, as with most materials. The pros and cons can vary depending on the type of glass block and the window location.

  • Maintains privacy while letting light into the bathroom

  • Energy efficient

  • Sealed to prevent drafts
