"Great company to work with! I have a daylight walkout basement and wanted a patio cover installed over the entryway. Ken came out and talked to me about my options, and had great suggestions. The company did a great job of communicating with me about when the job would start, how long it would take, etc. I am extremely happy with the results. The entryway is beautiful, and looks like it's part of the house. Several neighbors didn't even realize we had added a cover to the entryway - it looks that much like the house! Very happy with the quality of the work done."

It is not always necessary to put wood stripping (also called furring strips) under a metal roof, but some metal roofs require stripping to work efficiently. For example, you must use furring strips when installing metal over shingles in order to connect the shingles to the metal roofing. These strips are made of metal or wood. They create thermal breaks and provide a solid frame to which you can attach the metal roofing. A lack of wood stripping can cause condensation issues under certain roofs, so use the roofing manufacturer’s specifications as your guide.

You can leave a tarp of a roof for up to 90 days if installed correctly. Tarping a roof is only a temporary measure and should not be a substitute for roofing repair or replacement.

While there are many benefits to installing a metal roof on your home, there are some downsides, too. You may become so frustrated with the look of moss on your roof that you contemplate whether to clean or replace your roof. Fortunately, you don’t have to go as far as replacing it. After cleaning the moss, you can use a chemical solution to keep it away. For further protection, trim branches that overhang the roof, as fallen seed pods and leaves on the roof allow moisture to collect, encouraging moss growth. Consider adding zinc-coated flashing to the roof, too. As rain washes across the zinc, it leaves zinc particles behind that inhibit moss growth.
