"Required little to no supervision-Completed the job that was discussed-Work preformed looked good when it was completed-Worked around our residents and had no problems with them-I wanted a Nebraska Company to complete this project and I didn't like all the calls I received from out of state companies provided by Angi's List. That was the only problem I had with this project, The Contractor was Great! Duane D. Hoffman"

"3-D did an asphalt repair, patch, seal, and stripe project for the church parking lot in the Summer of 2023. They were very responsive to questions and concerns. They scheduled milling and repair in a way that we could still utilize portions of the parking lot as needed during the days they worked. They were quick and efficient, and the finished product looked good. They made the project seem as painless as possible."

"Great job! Previous decorative concrete job by other company was done poorly. This job removed old stain and concrete sealant. The job was done thoroughly and professionally. The people know what they are doing. They are very conscientious and keep their word as to timeline and showing up for the job. Cleaned up after job. Very pleased. We will have them back for periodic maintenance. Very reasonable price."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

The stones do not work well on uneven ground. If the stones are not buried into the ground and made level upon installation, they almost certainly will shift or crack on uneven ground. Additionally, rainwater or water from sprinklers can run under the edge of an uneven paver, causing erosion. In a freeze and thaw cycle, trapped water under the paver can cause the problem to worsen by shifting the stepping stones around. Use a bubble level to make sure the ground under each paver is as even as possible, even if the nearby ground is uneven.

Professional installers often include a deep layer of crushed gravel under permeable pavers to allow more runoff to soak through into the soil below. Many installations will include multiple layers of gravel, with coarser aggregate at the base and finer aggregate that sits on top of that bottom layer. Above the gravel, you’ll often find coarse sand that helps reduce paver shifting over time. Some permeable paver designs include a water collection system set into the gravel layer to route runoff to a safe area for disposal.

Cobblestone driveways can take a major hit on anyone's bank account, begging the question of whether it's worth it to build a cobblestone driveway. Some homeowners might prefer more affordable driveway materials like concrete or pavers, which can give a similar appearance to cobblestone without the high price tag.

Paving your driveway costs between $2,500 and $6,600, to put that in perspective. But for others, there’s nothing quite like the timeless look of cobblestone driveways.

Many asphalt companies have experience with tar and chip paving, but not all. The process is unique enough—and not incredibly common enough—that you may have to look around for a tar and chip specialist. However, speaking with a driveway company is a great place to start, especially if they have experience with multiple materials.

Whether you decide to DIY paver installation or want to hire a pro, it’s smart to understand the process. First, you’ll need to prepare the area by clearing away grass and dirt. Next, you’ll add the paver base of gravel and sand before laying the pavers on top. You may need to cut pavers to fit your space or the landscaping design and add edging stones.
