First, the team showed up 2 weeks after the initial visit. Worse than the delay was the complete lack of communication throughout the process ? getting updates or even basic responses was frustratingly difficult. The biggest issue, however, was the quality of the work. Their installation was poorly executed, and we ended up having to hire another company to fix their mistake ? costing us even more money on top of what we already paid Groundworks. We trusted them with an important job in our home and feel completely let down. I would not recommend Groundworks to anyone looking for reliable, professional service."

A floating concrete slab is considered a footing since it distributes the weight of the structure to the soil, but not all concrete slabs are considered footings. For example, a T-shaped slab includes separate footings below the slab that support the concrete above and push the load further down into the ground.
