"Chris was great to work with. He was prompt and professional. We had a tree that was at risk to damaging property and dying and they were able to get down with no damage to any property. They also left yard cleaner than probably was when they showed up!!! ?. Would recommend them for your job and will hire again if have same need."

Jim thanks for the first class professional service. His work is his brand and marketing sells by its self marketing word of mouth. I support this veteran company and recommend him for outstanding customer service. I will use Jim for all future projects on my house. Man of his word and being old school very hard to find nowadays. From one veteran to another Jim thanks for answering the call of duty. Integrity and being honest is everything."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

You can DIY a stockade fence installation, but prepare to put in some good sweat equity. For the best results, carefully plan the exact location of your fence before you break ground. In particular, carefully map out your post locations before setting them in concrete. Be sure to call your local utility company before digging to avoid damaging underground wiring and causing severe injury.

On the other hand, installing stockade fencing on your own might sound too overwhelming. It’s certainly time-consuming and labor-intensive. Besides the hard work, you must install it properly to avoid gaps. Unless you’re confident you can get the job done right, hiring a privacy fence installer near you is the way to go.

You can reuse chain link fences as long as they’re in good condition. The best part—reusing it helps you make the most of the cost of a chain link fence. Whether you want to reuse it or consider asking someone to remove it for you in exchange for a free fence, it’s possible. If you can’t find a location for it in your yard, you can repurpose a chain link fence by donating it to a local animal shelter or community garden.

For a chain link fence, the ideal distance between fence posts is 6 to 10 feet apart. Measure carefully to ensure even spacing, and resist the temptation to extend the distance more than 10 feet. Doing so could impact the stability of your fence.

The cost to build a fence is about $3,100 on average, but you could pay anywhere from $400 to $13,700 or more. Your cost will depend on the length, height, and materials for the fence. If you hire a professional installer, labor costs typically represent about half of the total cost of the project. This means you potentially can save quite a bit of money doing the work yourself.

A silt fence should be buried in a trench that is 6 to 12 inches deep. A depth of at least 6 to 8 inches is necessary to prevent water and sediment from running underneath the fence. A deeper trench, up to 12 inches, provides better anchoring during wet and windy weather. To ensure proper installation, look for a red line on the silt fence fabric, which often indicates the correct burial depth. Always adhere to local guidelines and regulations; a professional contractor will be familiar with these requirements.
