"I think this is an old name for the company, as they go by Mr. { remove company name} now. Todd was great to work with on giving me a quote to refinish my floors and on scheduling. When Mark came out, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. His coworker, Domeigo (I am unsure how to spell his name) was also fantastic. You could tell the two men had a great work relationship. He was dedicated, friendly, and detailed as well. This company goes above and beyond to make your floors look amazing! I did not expect my floors to turn out so well! Yet they turned out so beautiful! I could not be happier! I am so happy to have this 1 piece of my home completed. I highly recommend them for your flooring needs. Lastly, I highly appreciate their communication. Everyone involved kept me posted, explained the process, and communicated about every step. "Beware. Had this man put hardwood floors in two houses. One house has severe swirl marks and massive amounts of trash in the finish. Other house has absolutely no polyurethane finish left on it. Both houses were done less than a year before issues started to arise. Very shotty job. Dining room floor nowhere near matched the finish of the rest of the house. While doing work he admittedly dented a $3000 stainless steel fridge. Said he would take care of it and have never heard another word from him. He won’t return my calls. The floors are so bad that they will have to be completely redone, at my expense, by another company."

It all depends on what you’re looking for in a floor. Cork flooring is certainly softer and more sound-absorbing than hardwood floors, and the two share very similar maintenance routines. That said, for some homeowners, the pristine appearance of hardwood floors may be more appealing, and they may be less prone to scratches and dents than cork flooring. Hardwood flooring also tends to be more expensive than cork flooring.

Carpet is most often affixed to the floor by tacks in tack strips rather than nailed or glued directly to the subfloor. The tack strips are nailed to wood subfloors. Even if you want to install carpet over concrete, you’ll adhere the tack strips to the concrete with masonry nails or a liquid adhesive.

You can tell a carpet is good quality if it’s made of a soft, durable material and has a good face weight and density. When comparing two similar carpets, the higher the face weight, the more durable the carpet tends to be. The same goes for carpet density. A higher density of two similar carpets often indicates better quality. The ideal carpet face weight and density values depend on the carpet material and type. 

If the installer is unwilling to fix the problems and you’re not interested in seeking remediation, you could hide a visually unpleasant floor. This will only work if the floor is structurally sound and the only issue you have is the way it looks. The easiest way to do this is to use large area rugs. You can also paint the floor, although that’s a labor-intensive job if you want to go the DIY route.
