"The installers were great. The salesperson made promises that he did not keep and he missed a window. When the person came to measure he also didn’t catch that I was having all my windows done except one. The windows look great. The response when I notified the co that one window was missed was very fast but added to my cost."

"The installers and the person who came out to talk about financing the windows did great. Bit the people I talked to in the office were kind of rude and the would hang up on me when I would call to try to get answers about when they would be installing the windows."

"I contracted with Mount Valley Foundation to encapsulate my crawlspace. I worked with Trey to define the project work. He along Christian provided a competitive estimate and were available to answer my questions. The project included removal of all fiberglass insulation, fully encapsulating the space with top end vapor barriers, replacing the door, and installing a dehumidifier. The team worked for two days to complete all the work with the exception of wiring the dehumidifier which is being done by a third party. Cody led a team comprised of Cory, Zy, Billy and Lamont. They worked steadily and demonstrated they knew what they were doing. I was most impressed by their willingness to answer any questions. All of them were so polite. I would highly recommend Mountains Valley Foundation based in my experience."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

By replacing the worn mesh and repairing frames, restoring functionality and appearance.

The average cost to screen-in your patio ranges from $2,000 to $4,000. How much you spend depends on the size of your patio, the materials used, and construction complexity. Some patio screen room kits are easy to DIY, but you may need to hire a local screened-in porch builder and obtain permits for more complex designs.

The cost ultimately depends on size, but roughly, the most popular screen materials will set you back anywhere from around $0.25 to over $25 per square foot. Fiberglass and aluminum are usually less expensive at around $0.25 to $0.70 per square foot. Solar screens cost about $7.50 to $15 per square foot, while security screens range from around $10 to $25 per square foot.

Window screens can take anywhere between 10 minutes and an hour to replace, depending on the complexity of the replacement and the accessibility of the window. Replacing the screen inside an existing frame normally takes longer than replacing an entire screen, frame and all, if you purchase a prefabricated screen already mounted on the frame.

Yes, you can fix windows without replacing them. However, this will depend on the severity of the issue and what your needs are. Minor water damage, broken glass, damaged casing, and worn caulking are usually easy repairs. But if there is excessive damage, the windows are constantly foggy, or the windows are very old, it’s best to consider replacing them. Replacement windows cost between $575 and $1,475 per window, or an average of $850 per window.
