"I want to recognize three young men who recently completed our basement work through Groundworks: Matt, Taylore, & Gavin. The work was thorough, clearly explained, & the finished product looks excellent. But the biggest positive was the crew. They worked incredibly hard every day on a physically demanding, messy job, yet remained professional, disciplined, & respectful. They took great care of our home, kept debris contained, & cleaned up afterward. Matt took time to explain the full system to us & went above & beyond to help replace insulation that had fallen, even though it wasn't part of the job. Taylore & Gavin were equally helpful, helping us salvage & store shelving materials and remove a few stubborn pieces we couldn't manage ourselves. I'm genuinely impressed by their work ethic, attitude, & pride in doing the job right. I would absolutely recommend Groundworks, but especially these three young men. They represented the company exceptionally well!"

Yes, an outdoor fireplace should use fire bricks. Fire bricks are specially designed to withstand high levels of heat and thus won’t crack as easily as regular bricks when exposed to the intense heat inside a fireplace.

The difference between river rock and landscaping rocks is size, smoothness, and use. River rocks are smooth and flat, as if polished by water, and come in diameters between 1 and 8 inches. It might be possible to drill into brick with a standard drill if you’re only drilling a very small hole, but note that masonry work will put a lot of wear on a standard drill, and the tool may not be strong enough to get through brick.
