"These guys have completed a couple jobs for me at my house. They finished a deck project that I've been neglecting for 3 years and also removed and replaced a lot of our rotten soffits. They were professional, quick, and stayed in communication with me throughout the work. I had several handyman and professional deck companies come out to give me a quote, and Brothers Carpentry is the only company that actually took measurements and included the items we discussed in the quote. I'm an engineer by trade, and felt very comfortable with their processes and quality of work. I can't say that about a lot of the contractors that have worked at my home. They also fixed a few things that were out of scope without me asking. Those were a pleasant surprise. I plan on using these guys for any home improvement projects that come up."

Waste Removal Services questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on property size, cleaning scope, and debris type.

Most ceiling tiles and the support material that holds them in place can simply go in the garbage, a dumpster, or a landfill, as they're not considered hazardous materials. However, if your home's ceiling tile is older than 1990, it may contain asbestos, which can require testing and special disposal methods.

If you choose to break down a piano on your own, a 10-yard dumpster should be large enough to hold the individual parts. Keep in mind that junk haulers may not allow you to place a whole piano in a rollaway dumpster, but this will depend on the company, your contract, and local laws. That being said, choosing the right dumpster size will save you from the headache of over-filling the container during your cleanout.

While abandoning a tank without treating it and following strict rules is illegal, there are several other ways to dispose of an old septic tank. One standard method is to pump out and crush the tank where it rests and bury it in the soil. Another is to remove it and transport it to a landfill. Finally, if abandonment is the best option, your contractor must pump out the tank and fill it with inert material, such as sand or concrete, depending on local regulations.

How to dispose of excess sealant depends on the type of sealant you need to get rid of. You can simply allow latex or water-based sealants to dry out before including them in your normal household waste. Sealants that contain oils or polyurethanes require disposal at a hazardous waste disposal site or recycling facility.
