Last time he came he left our house a mess !!!!!!!! Dirt ? everywhere! The town of Warsaw asked did he go under the house and neither time did! He used an electric snake for a temporary fix !!!!!! If you live in an area that has frequent power outages, it’s a good idea to install a sump pump battery backup. A sump pump requires electricity to move water out of the home. The battery backup will ensure that your sump pump has a supply of electricity, even if the power is out. 

To maintain your sump pump, start by checking it every three to four months to ensure it’s in working order. Clear any debris from the pit because blockages can prevent the pump from operating efficiently. You should also test the pump by pouring a bucket of water into the pit. If it turns on automatically and drains the water, it’s functioning correctly. Inspect the discharge line for clogs, and ensure it directs water away from your home. Once a year, clean the pump itself, and consider having it professionally serviced for optimal performance.

Every three to four months, you should clean any dirt and debris off of your sump pump. You should also check the inlet screen (at the bottom of the pump) to make sure that it isn’t blocked. On top of that, you should deep clean your sump pump once per year—or hire a sump pump pro to do it for you.

When a backflow valve fails, wastewater will flow back into your system, contaminating your drinking water. You’ll immediately notice backflow valve failure from a rotten smell and brown water coming from faucets.
