"Dario Valdes and his crew did a great job for a great price- a significantly lower price than bids from competitors. This was a difficult job - 3 story house, bevel cedar siding and shakes, steep roof covered in solar panels, multiple gables, 4 different colors. Dario and his team are pros - hard working, skilled, pay attention to detail, never cut corners, took care of the little things that make a difference, e.g. cleaning, surface prep, masking, drop cloths to protect surfaces. Technically, yes, there are lawn “paints” that you can use to dye your lawn to a greener color, often made out of nontoxic biodegradable materials. This is a potential band-aid to your problem, but it rarely has perfect results. First, yellowed grass is usually frail and lacks the springiness of healthy grass, so your lawn may still look unhealthy no matter the color. Second, lawn paints only work for the short term, and wash away after a couple of months (depending on your climate).

The main difference between limewash and paint is their chemical makeup and ingredients. Limewash is made from lime and water, which is more breathable than the ingredients in paint, which is made from a combination of plastic, acrylic, or latex. Because of these ingredients, limewash is more transparent than paint; it also only appears as white, while paint can be mixed into an endless number of different colors and shades.

You should always use a primer before painting over wallpaper to help the paint adhere correctly and get a good finish. Not all wallpaper can be painted over, so do a test patch in an inconspicuous area before painting an entire wall. If the primer and paint don’t adhere, you’ll need to remove the wallpaper, prime the wall, and then paint.

A foam roller or a roller with a very short nap will give you the smoothest finish, especially when working with glossy paints. Thicker rollers will leave a slight texture on the wall, and shiny paint will reflect light, highlighting the imperfections.

You should wait for caulk to cure before painting it. Silicone and acrylic latex caulk can take anywhere from one to 10 days to fully cure, and polyurethane may take 10 to 12 days to cure. Always follow the instructions on the label when it comes to painting over caulk because different types require different drying and curing times.
