"My home has a chimney that was unsafe to use (cracked masonry liner). I dreaded the time and cost of a tear down and replacement. I contacted "Shamrock Chimney" and scheduled an appointment with their lead technician "Tony". He suggested a less costly and safer alternative (steel liner and a resealing of the outer brickwork. The work was performed over a two-day period. I am fully satisfied with the results. One thing I really apricate is the communication during the project. The "front office" would let me know by either phone or email when the project would start, and then Tony and would give me updates. All and all the whole process went smoothly. Also, this was my first time with "Angi", I hope to use their services again in the future."

My names Cayden Shadoan, I’m 23 years old. I have a beautiful wife and daughter. I have a full time job as a pipe welder in Sumter South Carolina. I’m on here just looking to pick up a couple extra jobs here and there in hopes of starting my own business one day to be able to stay home with my family more. I can do pretty much anything that needs done in or around your house. Specializing in building fences or repairing fences, any kind of piping jobs, or any welding. Thank you for considering me to help you get what you need done. Hope to see you soon.

"It's a pretty decent system, I think. They send you the pieces and you install them yourself, which is pretty easy. The only real problem I have is that one sensor is too far away from the panel...or there's some interference, and they haven't been able to fix that. It's an interior door, so it's not the end of the world, just a little annoying. Their customer service is pretty good though. Nice, smart customer service people on the other end, very polite and helpful."

"David and his crew did a great job.  We had several estimates and David was the only one to come completely prepared and answer all of our many questions. The crew worked in 100 degree heat and on Saturday to complete our job.  They were very punctual and professonial.  The new roof looks great and we are hoping for lower cooling bills!"

"Had a leaking fireplace. E-mailed through webpage evening of the leak. David was able to stop by the next evening. Immediately offered and performed a temporary fix (good for about a year) and recommended a larger, but reasonably priced permanent fix. I really enjoyed this interaction and am very hopeful that future work with David will be just as great. It's hard to find quality workmanship in Huntsville. I'm hoping these guys will get to become my go to company. So far so good. :D"

"Brian Bryce and his staff were great.  We had damage that was done at construction of our new home.  We didn't find out we had any damage done until we started having water come into the house.   We contacted Brian and he sent Kevin to take a look at it.  It was then discovered that we had several puncture holes on both sides of my front roof with water damage that had rot the wood.  We were able to see if for ourselves as well.   This was such a stressful moment for us because the house isn't even 6 years old.  We had to have the front roof replaced because of the way it was designed and we needed to have a valid warranty on our shingles.  So they replaced the front roof and sheet rock inside one of our bedrooms.  They painted and cleaned up their mess as well.  The job was done in less than 3 days and I was very happy about that.  We had family coming in and they made it possible for my room to be completed before they arrived.  Very professional and very personable.  I would recommend this company for sure.

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

They provide excellent heat retention and durability and add a classic aesthetic to a home.

Single-pane windows might let in the cold, but if you’re not ready for a long-term solution or window replacement, there are quick fixes to keep your space warmer. Start by sealing gaps with weatherstripping or caulking around the frame to block drafts. For an extra barrier, apply window insulation film to the glass, trapping an air pocket between the film and the window. Thick curtains or thermal drapes can also help keep the chill at bay. And if you’re in a pinch and looking to get creative, bubble wrap can provide a surprisingly effective layer of insulation—just spritz the window with water and press it on, bubble side in.

Modern gas fireplaces are relatively efficient and don't burn excessive amounts of gas, especially compared to older models. A gas fireplace might use between 10,000 to 40,000 BTUs per hour; the total amount of gas used depends on the fireplace's size, heat output, and how often it's in use. To help keep your running costs down, consider using a thermostat and turning off the fireplace when not needed to minimize gas consumption

Yes, it can be worth installing a gas fireplace, depending on your home heating needs. The cost to install a gas fireplace can be much lower than the cost to install a comparable wood-burning fireplace. The convenience of starting a fire with the flip of a switch and turning it off just as quickly makes a gas fireplace a big time saver over starting and maintaining a wood-fueled fire. A gas fireplace also does not require ash cleanup or frequent chimney cleaning to remove creosote and other buildup that can lead to chimney fires. Gas fireplaces burn and heat much more cleanly than wood fireplaces.

Wood fireplace inserts produce more heat without replacing the whole system. A fireplace installer can verify that you have a connector and chimney system to fit the wood-burning insert.

Gas fireplace inserts require less maintenance and are an efficient way to produce warmth. Some can also produce heat in the event of a power outage.

Electric fireplace inserts don't have a real open flame, so they produce flames that mimic a real fire surrounded by artificial logs with LED light. Many electric fireplace inserts produce heat from glowing elements while only using electricity.
