"The team (Corey Hemingway, Nick, & Shaunn came and installed our new bathtub in one day. They were professional and friendly to talk to. They did an excellent job and it looks wonderful. We are so happy that we decided to have West Shore Home complete this project for us. We highly recommend this company. They do what they say they're going to do and right on time!"

",After living, for years, with a shower in our master bath that was just to small, we decided to have a new larger shower installed.
Our experience with Re-Bath began with Conrad coming to our home to go over all the details of what we wanted and to give us a price for what we wanted done. From beginning to end Conrad could not have been more helpful. When materials arrived Robert came to tear out the old and put in the new.  Robert was great. Knows what he is doing and does it perfectly. Bottom line,, we could not be more pleased with the final result.

"It went great.  Professional installer(s).  There was a measurement error so one piece didn't fit correctly.  It was corrected and replace within the same day.  The company owner came and got the incorrect piece, re-measured, and brought back the correct piece before the crew finished the rest of the job.  It looks great!

"I had searched the Fayetteville area for someone who could do some really special tile work and would give careful attention to our plans for our master bathroom. After going through Google and the phone book and not finding the right person for the job I eventually found Julian Tile & Hardwood Contractor on Angie?s list and noticed immediately that he had 3 ?A? reviews and absolutely no negatives. He responded to my call with a prompt quote and after a little scheduling difficulty on my part he set to work with his co-worker Mario. Julian took special care to describe our options and what he could do to deliver to us the bathroom of our dreams. He expressed genuine concern for our needs and listened intently to understand what it was we were looking for. We supplied the material and in short order he and Mario delivered what they had promised. We have a showcase quality master bath with a raised step, floor-to-ceiling marble walk-in shower and a matching whirlpool bath with tiled floor around the commode and bidet. I will admit that I had no idea how it would come out as I have no ?vision? for such things but when Julian and my wife got to discussing the job they performed nothing short of a miracle. Julian made the best use of the materials, we had very little waste and he and Mario cleaned behind themselves and left no messes for us to clean up for them. They showed up when they said they would and worked hard throughout the day to finish the job as quickly as they could so we could get our home back to normal. I cannot begin recommend Julian Tile & Hardwood Contractor enough and will certainly use them again as we upgrade other parts of our home, i.e. backsplash and other projects.

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Plan your budget, storage needs, accessibility features, and design aesthetics before starting.

Completing a full standard bathroom remodel offers the best value, with an average return on investment (ROI) of 70%. However, you don't need a full remodel to make an impact. To maximize value, focus on key components like flooring, the tub and shower, vanity, and cabinets. High-value upgrades include installing a walk-in shower, resurfacing a tub, retiling, or expanding the shower. For more budget-friendly options that still increase value, consider repainting with a light, neutral color, or updating the mirror and light fixtures. It's also crucial to address any necessary repairs, such as leaks, mold, or cracked tiles, as buyers will notice these issues. Avoid flashy upgrades like bathtub jets or steam showers, which don't add as much value.

The average cost to convert a tub to a shower is around $3,000, but prices can range from $1,000 to as high as $15,000. A more typical range is between $1,200 and $8,000. The final cost depends on several factors, including the amount of plumbing work required, the size of the shower, and the type of materials and fixtures chosen. A prefabricated shower stall is a more budget-friendly option, while a custom shower with features like luxury tiles, unique tiling, smart technology, or accessibility features will be at the higher end of the cost spectrum.

We don’t recommend using a tub liner to cover up cracks in a bathtub. Instead, you should repair the cracks yourself if you have the experience or hire a pro. Cracks may seem like small surface imperfections, but they can lead to much larger issues, so repair them as soon as you can.

If your bathtub is in overall good shape with minor scratches, discoloration, or just general wear and tear, it's best (and less expensive) to refinish it.

If your tub has large cracks, is leaking, or is otherwise severely damaged, we recommend replacing it with a new bathtub. Refinishing a bathtub can only fix superficial problems, so these issues will still be present or reappear after a refinishing.
