Gardens of the Carolinas was the most responsive when we initiated initial inquiries, which continued throughout our project. John and his team were fantastic to work with for our backyard project. The team listened to our concerns and provided an extensive long-term vision for rectifying them and making them an area we’d enjoy moving forward. Based on our immediate needs, we decided to take a phased approach by adding a timber retention wall, a stone wall with lighting, and privacy trees. They also tapped into our existing drainage solution and made it more efficient. I view this as providing us with a canvas for future projects. We are very pleased with their work and will be a repeat customer for future phases of their initial plan. John and the team always understood and respected our concerns, ensuring we were comfortable with the decisions. Thoroughness: I was provided multiple options and pros/cons for every question. "In October of 2024 Shane came out to give me a quote for yard clean up. After several calls by me, I finally got a start date. Shane called me and said they could start a day early and I was fine with that but they showed up at 5:30pm. I was told they would start at noon. The next day (actual start date) they showed up at 7:30pm and were there for a half hour and left because getting dark. I was told they would be there the next day at 9am. At 10:30am I called Shane asking where the crew was. He actually argued with me telling me they were there. So apparently I was blind. They showed up after 11am and they finished while I was out. Only half the job was done. I emailed all photos of areas not done with pic of contract for those areas quoted. In no way did Shane reach out to see if everything was done. I had to hire another company to finish what they did not do. When I got the bill, I reached out to Shane and said we need to revisit this bill because not everything done. He offered a $150 discount (via Sara's email) which was laughable and said "if ok we will send a new invoice". I sent an email back saying $150 is not acceptable and got no response. No response for 5 months! I got an email 5 months later saying my bill was delinquent but they cut the bill in half. I never received new invoice that showed bill was cut in half till 5 months after my last contact with them. They are not trustworthy and play games. If I could give a zero, I would."

"Design Craft helped me out with a backyard project. They installed new gravel fire pit area and paver dinning area. They were quick and professional and even leveled out part of my yard they weren't working on for more effective draining at no extra cost! Highly recommend."

"Our project was to replace a deck with a new larger one and build a roof over it. I was nervous about hiring a contractor but Hugo was recommended by a friend. « Go with Hugo, he did a superb job of carpentry in my house ! ». I am so grateful to her! I did hire Hugo. As for his work, the words “top-notch”, “first-rate” come to mind. He and his crew are outstanding professionals. The whole construction was done with such care and proficiency. My husband and I are delighted with the result. Hugo’s work was not inexpensive but I did not want to end up with a car port ! Considering that we got exactly what we wanted, with the quality of both material and workmanship, we felt it was a fair deal. Also, I appreciated Hugo’s passion for his own work and the advice of an experienced builder. As a bonus, he was completely trustworthy, showing up when he said he would, meeting all date-lines, explaining small delays while waiting for Inspections from our County, etc… and taking care of “everything”, like permits or attending to last minute requests. And then, there is another aspect of the total experience: giving us peace of mind instead of worries.. That, to me, was very valuable."
