"I booked a power washing service through home advisor fixed pricing, and even though I paid in advance, that person never showed up. Mike called me within minutes of putting in a new request for power washing. I let Mike know I was in a pinch and needed the job done within only a few days. He was very sympathetic to the fact that the other company never showed up; not only did he say he would fit me in within the next day or two, and work with my budget, but actually showed up that evening and worked all the way until 8 o’clock to finish the job! My home is in a wooded area and was covered with green pollen. Not only are my driveway, porch, home and deck spotless, but they even de-weeded the driveway! My house looks more perfect than I could have imagined, especially considering the lack of love it’s gotten since all the storms. Meadows Cleaning is a wonderful company. They have an eye for detail and will treat you like their own neighbor. You will not regret hiring this team!"

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Regular vacuuming, deep cleaning, and prompt stain removal help maintain appearance and durability.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.

Baking soda is an excellent choice for a natural dog urine neutralizer. You can sprinkle it on a stain, leave it overnight, and then vacuum it in the morning to help rid your hardwoods of the dog urine smell. Hydrogen peroxide is another odor neutralizer, but be careful not to mix it with other household cleaners.

You can embrace minimalism when it comes to cleaning vinyl plank flooring. Water or diluted vinegar both work great for mopping and are much better options than some other cleaners that can damage the protective coating on these floors. Ammonia or solvent-based polishes can both break down the top layer. Also, avoid “mop-and-shine” cleaners, which tend to leave behind residue on vinyl plank floors.

Yes, you can polish an existing concrete floor—as long as the slab is structurally sound and in good shape. In fact, that’s what makes this type of flooring upgrade so appealing. Polishing works best on bare concrete with minimal surface damage, although you can usually repair cracks and stains before the grinding and buffing begins. Instead of ripping out your existing concrete floor, polishing it can turn it into a high-shine showpiece that’s both practical and sleek.
