"We recently had wood flooring installed by Marvel Makers, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The team was professional, punctual, and paid close attention to detail throughout the entire process. The craftsmanship is outstanding — the floors are beautifully installed, seamless, and completely transformed the look and feel of our home. What stood out most was their communication and care. They took the time to answer questions, kept the workspace clean, and made sure everything was completed to a high standard. It’s clear they take pride in their work, and it shows in the final result. If you’re looking for quality flooring installation with excellent customer service, I highly recommend Marvel Makers. We’re extremely happy with our new floors and would absolutely use them again for future projects."

"We hired Adam and Kiltconstruction for a remodel on the run down, 90 year old house we had purchased. It was very outdated and neglected but we knew it could be a special home. Adam was recommended from a co-worker so we called him. He arrived when he said he would which was a good first impression. My wife and I explained to him about what we were thinking to do in our home and he took extra time to listen as we walked thru the house. To our pleasant surprise he not only took our ideas but was able to offer several suggestions that we had not thought of to integrate modern appliances within the 90 year old layout. During the course of the remodel Adam remained in constant contact whenever there was an issue we needed to be aware of. It is an old house so there were a few unknown and unexpected changes to the initial discussion. Adam is a great communicator, he listened to what we were hoping to get in the remodel and made great suggestions to accentuate our ideas. He was also very candid in terms of the costs for the work performed and we never had a feeling we were not getting what we paid for. I highly recommend Adam and Kiltconstruction. Honest, no games and a partner for your remodeling project."

"Adam is an excellent contractor! He installed 7 windows on our porch in place of plexiglass panels. He was meticulous on the project. He completed our project in the timeline he gave us. We are so pleased with our new porch!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can tile a shower as a DIY project, and you can save hundreds of dollars in labor costs by doing so. However, you’ll need to rent or buy quite a few tools and supplies for the job, including a saw, tile nippers, and a new shower pan. In terms of the work itself, you should be prepared to tackle a variety of different tasks, including measuring and ordering materials, removing old tile, waterproofing the wall, adding rows of tile, grouting, and more.

Glazed ceramic tiles don’t need to be sealed because the glazing already offers some protection against moisture. Unglazed ceramic tiles need to be sealed to keep the porous tile safe from moisture and staining. However, both types of tile can benefit from sealing. Sealant can make the tiles easier to keep clean and offer more resistance to water, spills, and stains.

To make a bathroom look bigger, choose light-colored, medium- to large-format tiles. Light colors such as white, cream, or light gray make a space feel more open, while dark colors, busy patterns, and small tiles can make a bathroom feel smaller. It may seem counterintuitive, but small tiles can shrink a room visually due to the increased number of grout lines. Using medium- to large-format tiles creates a more seamless look. For the best effect, pair your light-colored tiles with a matching or similarly colored grout. This minimizes the grid-like pattern and gives the floor and walls a more continuous, uninterrupted appearance, helping the room feel significantly larger.

For glass tile, you want to use unsanded grout. Sanded grout is a stronger and grittier cement grout that is great for installing tiles with wider gaps and into joints. However, it is susceptible to scratching glass tile and is more difficult to use in thinner gaps. Unsanded grout, while more expensive, is easier to fit between thin gaps and is less harsh on delicate materials, like glass tile.

There are several different products that allow underwater repair. Pool putty can help repair chips, cracks, and loose tiles without draining your pool, but it should only be used for a temporary fix. Certain two-part epoxy adhesives will cure underwater, too. That said, while it is technically possible to fix pool tiles underwater, it is usually not ideal, depending on the depth of your pool. You will still have to reach the tile, which means you might have to dive and make the repair while submerged.
