The recommended blade is a tungsten carbide-tipped blade, often called a solid-surface planer or triple chip grind blade. This type of blade is hard enough to cut through the material effectively. For a jigsaw, a fine-tooth down-cutting blade should be used.

It is important to note that a diamond blade is not necessary. Diamond blades are designed for harder materials like natural stone, concrete, or brick, and Corian is not a natural stone.

Using blades designed for wood is not recommended as they can cause microfractures that weaken the countertop's edges. The lifespan of painted countertops depends on the products used and how well they are maintained. Generally, they can last for a couple of years before needing a fresh coat. To maximize their longevity, it is vital to apply a durable sealer, such as a resin or water-based acrylic topcoat, over the paint. After applying the sealer, allow it to cure for the full recommended time, which can range from seven to ten days, to ensure a fully protected surface.

Rubbing alcohol won’t damage most countertops, and you can mix it with water to create a disinfecting spray to keep your kitchen clean. It’s safer than using bleach on countertops, which can stain and cause discoloration. Be careful with rubbing alcohol when it comes to lacquered or varnished surfaces, though.
