"The work that was completed was great. However, the issue that I had was, I wasn?t properly quoted a price for the installation of my sink. Sofia came to my home assessed the job that I needed done and gave me a price. They day of installation the price increased $200 because something she did not notice during the day of the assessment. I was not pleased with the way things were handled as far as pricing. Please beware that your price may increase. "

"L Collins Plumbing made our toilet replacement completely hassle-free, and we're thrilled with the result! He communicated clearly, worked with impressive efficiency, and the quality of the work is excellent. We especially appreciated that there was zero mess for us to clean up afterwards ? he took care of everything, including disposing of the old toilet and all the trash. I got into this business because my energy bill increased to a ridiculous amount and every time I asked nobody would tell me why. I finally found out why and I think you should know as well as be informed of opportunities to opt of of the high rate increases and begin a path to owning your power by going solar. Duke is going solar as well and when they do they will charge you and companies will charge even more because the demand will become higher so I feel it is only right that we share this opportunity to take a stand for your life and the generations after you to have even better opportunities than you and not have to worry about how they’re gonna pay their power bill. I’m interested in showing you how to lock in your bill at maybe 11 cents a kilowatt but it’s putting equity back into your home. Your solar is giving you electricity so yes you are paying for the solar panels but it’s a bill swap. Ownership of your power over an electric bill. You could pay for electricity the next 10 years and your money was going to someone else that whole time or you could be paying for your solar panels and they provide your energy to you.

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

The best way to know if your roof can support solar panels is to hire a structural engineer. They’ll look at your roof and approve the design of your solar panel system or suggest changes. The best roofing for solar panels is made from strong materials like asphalt shingles and metal, but tile and gravel will work. Softer materials like thatch or temporary structures are not a good fit.

Solar batteries can be a great investment to help maximize your solar savings and make your system and home more valuable, but they’re most beneficial to customers who don’t have access to net metering. If your state or energy provider doesn’t provide net metering, batteries can be a great way to offset consumption even when your panels aren’t producing power. They also come with the added benefit of providing electricity through blackouts, so they’re valuable in areas prone to severe weather that could cause frequent blackouts. Your installer can help you decide if batteries are worthwhile.

You can install solar panels on a flat or pitched roof, but keep in mind that they will need to rest at a 30- to 50-degree tilt for optimal sun absorption. It costs more to install solar panels on a flat roof because you will need to install a framing system and likely hire a structural engineer. If your roof has a pitch of more than 40 degrees, it may not be a good candidate for solar panels.

Installing solar panels is worth it if you’re frustrated with paying high utility bills, live in a sunny location, and qualify for tax credits and incentives. Most homeowners cut between $650 and $1,500 from their utility bills each year by installing solar panels. Over the course of your panel’s warranty, you could save anywhere from $16,300 to $37,500, though those in sunny areas with high energy costs could save more than $100,000.

While you can minimally overshoot the number of solar panels you need for your home, it's not smart to go too far. Not only is the extra cost unnecessary, but your state may put caps on how much energy your home can produce and send back to the grid. It is always best to work with a solar energy professional to determine the best system size for you.
