"I absolutely love this company. Very professional. The owner is down to earth and easy to speak with. The 2 guys that performed the duties were extremely nice and pleasant. Their work ethic is top notch and I have 0 complaints. They came back everyday until the job was completed."

"Highly recommend. I had several repairs needed around my house. Gault met with me within one day, carefully reviewed all of my items, and provided thoughtful perspectives. I expressed that one repair was particularly urgent and Gault worked with me to have the work performed the very next day. The work was done with very high quality and professionalism. I am very satisfied and look forward to potential future engagements. The urgent work we had done was replacing a load bearing 6x6 leg on my screened-in porch."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"When you hire someone that you don't know, no matter how many favorable reviews they may have, you still take a chance. Will they live up to them? Well, Mr. Hendricks certainly did, and I am delighted with the work he did for me (he replaced the nose/sills of 3 dormer windows). He arrived as promised and stayed until the job was done, even though if meant he and his helper were packing up their tools after dark. Came back thee next morning to repair a broken cabinet in my workshop. Obviously takes pride in his work and has a great work ethic. Highly recommend!"

Doors questions, answered by experts

The L marking on a door closer stands for latch speed and the S marking stands for swing speed. These two letters inform what part of the door closer you may be adjusting. The latch speed being the short final swing the door makes before closing and the swing speed being the long swing of the door when closing.

You should rekey your house every three years to minimize the chances of someone gaining access to your home. You can do it more than that, but it depends on the level of foot traffic and visitors you get. Businesses, for instance, routinely rekey their locks every six months to a year. If you experience a break-in or a house key has gone missing, rekey the locks immediately. The same goes if your lock becomes damaged.

Though you can remove your interior door and paint it on a flat surface, doing so can be more time-consuming and labor-intensive. The easiest way to paint an interior door is by simply leaving it on its hinges and then painting both sides of the door all at once. That way, you can avoid having to reinstall the door, you don’t have to find a project site to paint it, and you get a faster dry time.

Barn doors do not always require a bottom track, especially if a high-quality top track is used to stabilize the door. However, a bottom track is often recommended to ensure the door operates smoothly, prevent it from scratching the floor, and keep it from pushing inward or outward, which could cause damage. A bottom track also keeps the door more secure and properly anchored. In some cases, an interior barn door can hang solely from a top track without a bottom guide. If you do install a bottom track, it should be placed six to eight inches from the floor and be at least twice as wide as the door.

Look at the door from the outside, or the key side. If the hinges are on the left side of the door, it’s a left-hand swing. If the hinges are on the right side of the door, it’s a right-hand swing. You can also think of it as which hand you would most likely use to open the door from the outside when considering whether it’s a right-hand vs. left-hand door.
