"Highly recommend! Very impressive service, from responding to my inquiry, coming by for an estimate (a fair price) to getting the job done within a couple of days. Jason is great, so are Phoenix and Gabe. They could not have been more polite or more professional. Could not be happier with the experience."

"Sean and his team were great. Because of the beetle infestation, we needed the tree down asap. Sean fit us into his schedule weeks ahead of the other companies we received quotes from. He understood the infestation and recommended the proper scope of removal to minimize the beetles moving to our other trees.

The large, 70+ foot pine tree was down and gone, stump ground and shavings removed in 3 hours. A well run operation."

"Great experience working with Samuel and Alberto. I had them check some bushes on both of the Lansdowne entrances signs that developed mold, and they handled everything professionally from start to finish. The bushes were large (around 8 ft) with big stumps, and they removed them carefully and efficiently. Fair pricing and helped with the cracked left the edge on the neighborhood sign. Highly recommend."

"We had a fantastic experience working with Patrick from Christie Construction Services. Within 24hrs of submitting a request for a quote, Patrick reached out to schedule a time to come out and discuss the project. Patrick's communication and responsiveness throughout couldn't have been better. Project costs and progress were made very transparent and any questions I had were answered thoroughly. Patrick also volunteered his knowledge and expertise on additional improvements that we could do ourselves to further enhance our landscaping and drainage challenges on our property. This was very much appreciated as we live in a tough location and have a limited budget. He went above and beyond to help resolve the drainage issues we hired him to address and then some. The level of customer service can't be beat; not only does Christies know their stuff, but they are just genuinely great people! It was a pleasure working with Patrick and co., we will absolutely be hiring them again for our future landscaping and property improvement needs. Our new and improved driveway turned out great!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The best tools for tree removal include a chainsaw for large trees, an ax for notching and cutting down small trees, and a wedge to help control the direction a tree falls in. A hatchet can be useful for very small trees, but won’t be effective for medium to large trees.

All of the tree root removal methods mentioned above are effective on any kind of root, whether it’s still growing or simply needs a gentle nudge to finish decomposing. The only difference is that larger roots tend to be harder to remove and may require multiple chemical treatments as well as manual labor to eradicate.

Large, established tree branches won’t grow roots, but if you find a young tree branch that’s less than about a year old, you’ve got a shot. Put it in water or soil as soon as possible for best results. You’ll know the branch is viable if it’s about the thickness of a pencil and has some leaves or needles.

The best tool to cut trees is a chain saw. You can adjust your chain saw to the correct size based on the size of the branches, offering you the fastest and cleanest cut for medium- to large-sized trees. Depending on the type of chainsaw you use, you can cut through larger trees than you would with a more manual tool like an ax.

It’s possible, although a lot depends on the cause of damage and what steps you take. If the remaining parts of the maple tree are alive and not under attack by disease or pests, they can often be saved even if large portions of the maple tree have died. Frequent watering, careful pruning, mulch, and any recommended fungicides or insecticides can all help with survival.
