"Excellent team! They were on time and started right away. They all worked together and made the quick and easy. They only stopped to wait for the concrete truck to arrive. They cleaned up the work area well and left my yard the way they found it when they arrived."

"Jonathan did a wonderful job. He was a pleasure to work with. Added sod, irrigation and ornamental plants to my front and back yard. He replaced damaged irrigation heads. He is doing another project for us next week. Adding new beds along the driveway and trimming and pruning all our bushes. Very knowledgeable. Not pushy and has many good inexpensive ideas. We have recommended him to many of our friends. Glad we found him!!"

"I've been using this company's services for the past 13 years and have been very satisfied.  I feel no need to go elsewhere.  They are always very responsive and knowledgeable about how to save my plants from disaster.  They have great suggestions and everything they have ever planted for me has done very well and thrived.  I recommend them to others.

"Great job. The owner and work crew were very professional and honest (no surprises in the bill). The company monitors the sod for 60 days post- installation to make sure it is growing properly."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.

Gravel is the cheapest way to extend a driveway. Gravel is an affordable, practical option that’s easy to install and perfect for DIY projects, helping you save on labor costs. It can be quickly spread and leveled to create extra driveway space without heavy preparation. While gravel doesn’t offer the same durability or finished look as concrete or asphalt, its low cost makes it ideal for budget-conscious homeowners who want a functional solution without overspending.

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.

The material that’s best for your private road depends on your property, the climate in your area, and your personal preferences. Gravel is an affordable option, but some homeowners don’t like how it looks. It can be a pain to remove snow from, and it requires more ongoing maintenance than asphalt or concrete. However, while these other options require less maintenance and make snow removal a breeze, they’re more expensive and will need repairs from time to time. Ultimately, you’ll have to choose the road material that suits you and your property best.

Overall, a paver driveway is considered the easiest to maintain because homeowners are able to do driveway repair one piece at a time without impacting the rest of the driveway. Unlike paved options, paver driveways contain individual stones that aren't physically connected. By comparison, you may need to reseal or redo a full asphalt driveway if just one portion sustains a significant crack.
