"They did a very detailed job. They took time to edge and clean beds before laying down the mulch. Because of their great job with the mulch project, we are hiring them for grass-cutting services."

"Orean and Michelle worked tirelessly to abate a drainage problem in my backyard. In addition they built a happy place shed and completely relandscaped my backyard, including installing a drip line watering system. So far this spring, they have added many new plants and mulch all around my yard. Michelle has great design abilities, and even though it took over a year to complete, I am very pleased with their work and proud to show their work off. I plan to continue to use their services as a work in progress."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

It’s best to pull weeds when the soil is wet, as it’s much easier. Wet soil is much softer than dry soil, making it easier to pull the entire weed up by the root. Also, since the soil is wet, the roots will let go of the soil and slide up with less resistance. Be careful when working on your wet garden, though, as wet soil is easier to compact, which can harm your plants.

Water the lawn thoroughly, apply fertilizer, and overseed if necessary to promote healthy growth.

A spot herbicide for weed control is effective at killing crabgrass and not grass, but it depends on the type of herbicide. Always check the label to ensure that your herbicide is safe for grass but tough on crabgrass. Overall, spot treatment is ideal because it puts fewer herbicides into the soil, which can damage the soil. If you’re wanting a natural remedy to crabgrass that also won’t harm surrounding grass, you can also hand-remove crabgrass or even pour boiling water or 5% vinegar over crabgrass as a spot treatment.

There are organic herbicide options that will kill grass but not flowers, including white vinegar or a dish soap solution. Commercial selective herbicides can also target grass over other plants, but read the instructions carefully to avoid damaging your garden. Herbicides that kill grass but not flowers usually include ingredients like clethodim and sethoxydim. Otherwise, your best bet will be to weed by hand.

If you spray a DIY vinegar solution that contains high salt, it can disrupt the soil's structure and make it difficult for plants to grow. That's why it's vital to avoid spraying vinegar solution on areas where you are trying to grow plants and flowers. When using a mix of vinegar and soap, some say you can plant a few days after the vinegar dries.
