Anything from painting to roofing to complete remodels to building additions or anything

"Jeff Mclawhorn did construction to my business without getting the correct permits. Luckily, it ended up working out in my favor. When I had him do lighting work for me, he took the money and never completed the work. He disappeared for months, swore to send me a check for reimbursement for the work that was paid for and then disappeared. He never provided written quotes or receipts for work, and requested payment be made in cash. Avoid at all costs."

"WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ALPHA OMEGA UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. My husband and I are fairly new homeowners and put our complete faith & trust in Alpha Omega Construction Group when our gutter cleaner pointed out a few spots on our roof that needed to be patched. We came in contact with Alpha Omega through our homeowner’s insurance and reached out for a quote on April 12th. On April 19th we received the quote & immediately signed all the paperwork to send back to get the work scheduled. The “Project Manager” (keeping name out of this for reasons you’ll understand farther down) in Charlotte, NC assured us that he would be able to get the spots on the roof patched & work complete within the next week. On April 21st the “Project Manager” said they would be out on April 25th to repair the roof. So, my husband and I stayed home from work so that we would be there for the work crew. They never showed up on April 25th and when I reached out, I finally got a response that they could come on May 11th. So, I reached out on May 11th, after staying home from work AGAIN, and was told that it would have to be May 12th. Please keep in mind, the entire time I am being extremely flexible and understanding about how delayed this project was getting as I understand that delays happen in other construction projects. I reached out again on May 14th when the crew never showed up on May 12th and was told by the “Project Manager” that he didn’t know when they could come out but were there any days that didn’t work for us the next week. I, again, immediately replied to him and said that we were wide open but would like to know when they were coming so that we could stay home from work to be there. After a few days without a response, I reached out again and asked if we needed to get another quote or if they were still planning to complete the work that we were waiting on. The “Project Manager” told me that it would be fine with him if I found another quote, which, if I were a stakeholder in Alpha Omega as a Company, I don’t think I would appreciate him telling me to go elsewhere. Well, unfortunately, the homeowner’s insurance – Auto Owners – was extremely unhelpful in recommending anyone else (who I will also be notifying of the absolutely abysmal service Alpha Omega provided), so I basically begged the “Project Manager” at Alpha Omega to complete the work WHENEVER he could fit us in & continued to patiently wait… The “Project Manager” finally came by (with about an hour’s notice) to match the shingle colors on May 23rd. The “Project Manager” told us that they would come that Thursday, May 25 th to complete the work. So, we both stayed home AGAIN, and they STILL DID NOT SHOW UP. Finally, with absolutely no contact or communication to us, on May 26th the work crew came to do the repair. We just happened to both have taken that Friday off before Memorial Day and before we left for the beach, so we were there. As if this situation was not already frustrating, here’s where it gets REALLY horrible. When the work crew arrived, I spoke with them and asked them if they could take a few photos of the roof when they were done so that we could see where it was repaired – our home is 3 stories and there were various areas that needed to be patched that you could not see from the ground. The work crew was very nice and said they would take photos. Well, before I knew it the crew did the repair and packed up and left – without saying anything & without showing me any pictures of the roof. I wasn’t too concerned because I knew the “Project Manager” would probably be coming by so that we could pay for the work, and I would just ask to see the photos then. Two weeks went by, and I received an email invoice for the roof repair. I called the phone number on the invoice and spoke to a very nice woman and explained that we would like to see the pictures of the repair that was done. She said she completely understood that she would do the same thing and that it was no problem for her to reply all on the invoice and ask the crew for the pictures before I paid the invoice. So, she did, she sent an email that I was copied on to the “Project Manager” and asked him to email the pictures. About 10 minutes later the “Project Manager” called me and SCREAMED & CUSSED me out – this man said things too vulgar to even put on the internet. He told me that I was an entitled B***, that I could walk my a** out to the street and take my own god d*** pictures, that he knew I was going to be a pain in his a**, how dare me call and request photos. I mean ON AND ON. When he finally stopped screaming to take a breath I said “(His name), all I’m asking for is a few pictures of the roof since there were multiple places that were patched up that we can’t see from the ground”. This is when he started yelling again telling me that when his crew got up there, they didn’t end up needing to replace anything but one spot (WHY he would not have communicated that to me is a mystery as ALL repair spots were of course still included on the invoice – I believe he was so upset I wanted photos because he KNEW he didn’t complete the work properly). I asked him if I could speak to someone else and this is when he took to cussing me out again and told me that NO ONE at Alpha Omega would EVER agree to send me pictures of the completed work (with lots of choice words mixed in) and hung up on me. I have NEVER EVER been spoken to this way. This man was UNHINGED and the reason his name is not listed is because I am terrified of him. He is dangerous, sexist and a coward. He would have NEVER spoken to my husband that way, which is absolutely unacceptable. I then proceeded to call the woman at invoicing back and was so shaken up that I was crying to her. She was very kind and assured me she would have someone contact me because the “Project Manager” didn’t have anyone that he directly reported to because that person quit (CAN YOU BLAME THEM?). I was contacted promptly by someone more senior and explained the situation. He was apologetic, provided me with the photos (THAT’S RIGHT – they already had photos, so why “Project Manager” was so upset about me wanting the photos was absurd), and so generously offered me a measly $50 credit (even though the work that was invoiced had not all been completed). Of course, the men in my life could not believe how awful this person treated me and how unprofessional his conduct was, so my father reached out to a handful of executives at Alpha Omega to alert them to this situation so that it would NEVER happen to anyone ever again. A Chief Officer from the C-Suite replied to my father and assured him that he would reach out to me so that he could hear the story and offer an apology. Not only did the the Chief Officer not call me to hear this story, he had one of his reports reach out to me with an HR person on the phone and did not ask me a SINGLE question about what happened – all he and the HR person did was go on and on about how amazing of a company Alpha Omega is. I wasn’t asking for anything – we had already written the check for the invoice – all I wanted was to be able to tell my story so that it wouldn’t happen to anyone else ever again and all I received on the other end (while wasting my time during the workday) was a sales pitch about Alpha Omega. They cashed our check and went on about their merry day. Absolutely disappointing at best. So, no, I would never ever recommend Alpha Omega to anyone, not even my worst enemy."

FAQs for gutter repair and replacement projects in Jamesville, NC

The most common problem with gutters is clogs and improper drainage. The most common cause is when surrounding trees drop leaves, blossoms, seeds, and other debris into your gutters. Debris gets wet and soggy in the gutter and blocks the opening of the downspout to prevent water from draining. Even moderate to steady rain can cause water to overflow the gutters. Clean the gutters as safely as possible every spring and fall. You may have to clean them out more than once when lots of leaves are falling over the course of several weeks.

Leaking gutters can cause major problems in your home, which is why cleaning your gutters is important. Water leaking behind the gutters can cause the wood at the edge of your roof and even part of the roof to rot. When gutters and downspouts leak, the ground next to the foundation becomes saturated and can end up causing cracks and water leaks in your basement or crawl space. Overflowing gutters can cause moisture problems with windows and exterior walls.

Gutter installation costs from $4 to $30 per linear foot. Cost factors include linear footage, type of gutter, and material (aluminum, copper, etc.). The number and length of downspouts also impact the cost. Roof repairs are another potential cost. Optional add-ons include gutter guards or gutter screens to keep debris out of the gutters.

Although installing or replacing gutters doesn’t usually add directly to the value of your home, it can help maintain the value of your home by preventing water damage from overflowing or leaking. Aside from the practical preventative maintenance, a neat, clean new gutter system can certainly add to your home’s curb appeal.

Several telltale signs indicate that it’s time to replace your gutters. The most common signs include:

  • Peeling paint

  • Standing water in your gutters

  • Pulling away from the roof line

  • Leaking behind the gutters

  • Widening, leaking gaps in the seams of your gutters

  • Cracking

  • Sagging gutters

  • Rusting

  • Growing mold

  • Soaking foundation walls
