We recently purchased a 2nd home on Lake James with an exterior that is 100% cedar.  The exterior was in serious need of cleaning and re-staining.  It had not been maintained; and, had a significant amount of mold staining and several areas of the trim had the original finish peeling off.

We contracted with Mike and Crystal to prep and re-stain the exterior of our home.  Throughout the process, Mike demonstrated thoroughness, competency and responsibility.  Mike and Crystal took personal responsibility to ensure they delivered a quality product.  Mike kept his commitments and did not compromise his work product even when faced with the stripping process taking more time than he expected.  He completed the project per the schedule he committed.

Mike demonstrated a high attention to detail in the finishing process and ensured the project was completed to my satisfaction.  The home looks beautiful...we could not be happier.

I solicited bids from several paint contractors and evaluated several before selecting Mike.  His pricing was very competitive versus several other contractors; but, I never observed where Mike cut corners.

"Tommy Davis did an excellent job very efficiently and at a very reasonable price. I thought powerwashing my pressure treated pine deck with a retractable awning and two story house would take at least a full day. Tommy got the job done in two and one half hours. Although his work has not dried yet, we can see that the wood grain looks great and the vinyl siding, gutters and windows look almost like new. We are very pleased with his work and recommend his company for powerwashing projects."

"Easy to work with. Replaced and stained deck railings. Stained our house and did some indoor painting. Fixed an outside door so it would close. Did extra things like removing our window screens and putting them back. Had 5 people here at once to stain our house so they finished in 2 days. Good workers."

"Mr. Hargrove was very responsive and professional.  We contacted 2 other companies and never really got any response from either of them.  Mr. Hargrove was on time for every meeting or contact, and never failed to return calls promptly.  We agreed to pay half up front, and when we accidentally mis-dated the check, he drove about 45 minutes to meet us halfway to get him a new one, which he then used to buy the materials.  During the second day of work on the roof, rain interrupted progress, and they covered up what was unfinished, to resume the following day, when they finished.  They did a pretty good job of cleanup, which was made much more difficult by the amount of leaves that had fallen around the house - it would have been very hard to find the small fragments of shingles and nails all those leaves.  I later was able to blow both the small scraps along with the leaves out of the plant beds and into the woods.  I did find a few nails, but again it was nearly impossible to find them until the leaves were blown away.  The work crew was polite and professional.  I felt the price was a little higher than expected, but we did use high-grade stain-resistant shingles, and overall I felt the value received was good.  The new roof has yet to experience rain, but it looks tight and solid and I do not anticipate any leaks.  The shingles look good and are noticeably higher quality than the ones we replaced.  Mr. Hargrove pointed out to me several places where they had applied extra sealant to ensure that vent joints and other potential sources of leaks were well-sealed and should not cause problems.
