With sheer will the team of Nick, Elizabeth, and Isaiah faced a number of of life’s challenges from flat tires, trucks that had maintenance issues, a car fire, and more. Yet never did they waver, give up or change what was agreed to. "We originally contacted J&H to come out and look at existing joists under the house for termite damage. They came out and were very honest and said they did not see any damage and did not charge us. I then remembered that I had a report from our termite company with a blueprint of where they had treated under the house and where they said the damage was. Josh came back out and they researched underneath the house and found the termite damage. They were very honest and very reasonable and did a great job. They replaced the subflooring and joists and flooring in the kitchen. They kept us informed with pictures throughout the project. We are definitely going to use them again in the future and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs any type of construction or structural work done. "

Whether you're manually watering your lawn with a hose or using an irrigation system, it's always best to water the grass in the morning. It may not seem like it makes a difference, but nighttime is colder and winds are likely to be stronger. Strong winds will push the water droplets away from the grass, and the temperature will be too low for the water to evaporate, and thus get absorbed by the soil. However, watering the lawn during peak afternoon sun does the opposite, and the water evaporates too quickly.

As a beginner, start by mowing your lawn in symmetrical rows by turning the mower at the end of each row and overlapping with the previous row. Use an edging tool or weedwacker to make your lawn look sharp and crisp around the edges, and then sweep the debris back into the yard. Take it slow, and know that you can adjust your approach or pattern the next time your grass needs a clip.

Many experts say anytime before 10 a.m. is a good time to water grass, but this does depend a bit on the climate conditions where you live. For example, if you live in South Florida and it’s already 95 degrees by 7:30 a.m., it may simply be too hot to effectively water your lawn, regardless of what the time is.

Longer lengths are always better for striping, so mowing your grass to between 2½ to 4 inches tall. More length allows for optimal bendiness, plus it helps your lawn stay healthier, too. Remember, never mow more than ⅓ of the grass height at once to keep your lawn looking green and healthy.

The best hardiness zones for St. Augustine grass are USDA growing zones 8, 9, and 10. However, with a bit of extra attention, it'll also grow well in zones 7, 11, and 12.
