"Installers respected my home, careful with moving furniture, and cleaned up well when done. You wouldn't know the installers were there except for the new flooring!"

"Josh and his crew were very professional and courteous. They always picked up at the days end and left the work site tidy and clean. Their high level of communication made us feel comfortable and part of the team on the project. They communicated so we knew their daily schedule, the process of each step, progess of work and any ideas to make the projects better. The high quality of work was emphasized on an awesome deck / screened porch ( strong enough to drive a semi on) , a beautiful garage, grading, drains, cement pad and driveways. We would highly recommend their services."

My name is Joshua Hale. I am the owner and operator of Helping Hand Handyman. I've been a resident to the area all of my life. I'm married to my beautiful wife Elizabeth. We raised seven children together. I really enjoy working for clients and helping to build their dreams. Whatever they may be. It's not just about the money, but about the experience for me. I really enjoy helping people and solving problems. There's not much I can't do when it comes to your homestead. Everything from the ground up. Electrical, plumbing, excavating, carpentry, any and all of your needs I can probably take care of. Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to meeting you. " When you need a helping hand. Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

While experienced DIYers may take on the challenge, hiring a licensed professional is often the best route, especially for larger or elevated structures. A local deck contractor is typically the best pro for the job, as they have specialized experience and are knowledgeable about local building codes, ensuring your deck is built safely and designed to last. Other professionals who can build a deck include general contractors and carpenters, who may be more readily available in some regions.

In the majority of cases, you don’t need regulatory permission or permits to remove decking components and materials. However, the exception is if you live in or near a wildlife conservation area, which could require permits and consent prior to beginning the demolition. Check with a local regulatory agency for more information.

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.

Pressure-treated lumber is one of the most affordable types of decking upfront. This material is widely available, so you can usually find pressure-treated lumber at almost any local home improvement store you visit. Keep in mind that wood requires a lot of upkeep with repainting and restaining, so any kind of wood may be more expensive in the long run than something like PVC decking.

Whether to paint or stain a deck depends on your personal preference for appearance and budget. Stain provides a natural look with a range of undertones, is typically less expensive, and may only require one coat, but it does not last as long as paint. Paint offers a sleeker finish with a virtually unlimited color palette. Both options will protect your deck from outdoor elements like rain, snow, and general wear and tear.
