Here at Spot Check we are dedicated to supporting our residential and commercial clients with the highest return on their carpet, rug and tile investment. We offer tile cleaning and sealing, upholstery cleaning, and carpet cleaning services.

"Jerry responded quickly, even considering the overwhelming calls throughout Carteret County after the Florence and Michael. Cloth upholstered sectional sofa and chairs were cleaned and treated in a single visit. The cost is higher as I opted for stain prevention treatment."

"Terrible service. The technician replaced the fireplace blower fan, but it stopped working shortly after the repair. When we complained, the woman who answers the phone was rude and not helpful whatsoever. The technician then took the blower for two weeks to fix it again. Apparently he did not tighten all of the hardware so a few screws were loose. Two weeks for a loose screw. Absolutely terrible quality of work and customer service."

"They were a no show. Very unprofessional. Lost a day of work waiting on them. Called the company after waiting 30 minutes, no one could get in touch with The "Boss." Finally was able to speak to the "Boss" he said he would check on his team and give me a call back.....never heard from him again. Do not bother with this company!"

Dryer Vent Cleaning questions, answered by experts

If you're dealing with an odor in your dryer that transfers onto your clothes and linens, here's what you can do: start by cleaning the lint trap and drum with warm soapy water. Then wipe down the interior using a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar to eliminate any lingering odors.

To get rid of odors you can try this method: take a cloth soaked in vinegar and put it inside the dryer. Run the dryer on a heat setting for 15 minutes. Afterward, make sure to dry the drum by running it with some towels. This technique helps eliminate any smells and leaves your dryer smelling nice and fresh.

If the odors remain, you may need to sanitize your dryer or call in a professional house cleaner to handle the job.

Professionals use specialized tools to clean dryer vents effectively. These tools typically include a combination of flexible rods and brushes designed to navigate the vent's twists and turns. The brushes dislodge and loosen lint and debris, while the rods help extend the reach through the vent. High-powered vacuums with HEPA filters are also used to capture and remove the dislodged lint and particles, ensuring a thorough cleaning. In some cases, professionals may employ video inspection cameras to assess the condition of the vent and confirm that it's entirely clean.

Signs that your dryer is about to catch fire include a burning smell or the dryer and the clothes getting hotter than usual. If this happens, turn the dryer off immediately and call a repair professional. Another less urgent sign is that your clothes are taking longer to dry than normal. If this is the case, check the lint trap, vent, and duct to make sure they are all clean. If they are, you may need to call a pro to find the source of the issue.

Yes, dryer vent cleaning is absolutely worth the money. The service is relatively inexpensive and quick, and the value and peace of mind you get for the investment make it worthwhile. A clogged dryer vent is a significant fire risk, so the average $140 you might pay to have your dryer vent cleaned once a year could save you thousands of dollars in home repairs if the clog causes a fire. Additionally, some homeowner’s insurance companies will charge you a lower premium if you provide receipts of annual dryer vent cleanings by a professional.

The average cost of a dryer vent ranges from $100 to $300 for the various models, but that price doesn’t include installation. If you're hiring a pro, the labor cost to install a dryer vent will be an additional $20 to $35 per hour. The job takes roughly two to four hours, so that’s an extra $40 to $140 altogether.
