my bad decision, I used them again for new warranty work in Jan 2016. They came
out to see why the AC failed. The AC coil, that was only 5 years brand new had
established a hole where the coolant had leaked out. The AC coil was under
warranty, but I had to pay for labor. They quoted $960.00 in labor costs to
replace the coil. Trane Warranty Dept asked me to have them fax Trane their
paperwork for their work from September for some unknown reason. Burgess said
they would that day. However, they never did.
Burgess was to come back with the new coil on a Monday, but did not show up for
the repair until Thursday.
When they finally showed up, they removed the old
coil from the AC unit, only to discover they FORGOT to pick up the new replacement coil. This is a part that is 3 feet long and 2 feet wide....yet they "forgot it" after showing up 4 days after their scheduled date.
I found out from Trane that they never faxed
the previous warranty work forms Trane asked from them either which I spent
well over an hour on the phone with Trane about since Burgess did not send
Trane anything. When I called and spoke to Burgess?s office, they were rude and
they suddenly claimed that they do not send paperwork to Trane. When I asked
for Burgess to call Trane and provide them with what they needed, Burgess AC
staff were very rude and unprofessional.
When I called Burgess back about coming to my home late off schedule by 4 days
and then forgetting to bring the replacement part to fix my AC, after I had
waited two weeks to fix the AC unit, they called me back 30 minutes later and
said they decided not to finish the work.
They left the old AC coil and parts on the garage floor. We called very calmly
and asked to speak to the owner, of which their staff including their Service
Manager said they do not know when the owner would be in the office for
that day, for that week or that month and he was not taking messages.
At no time did myself or family yell, name call or cuss at any of these people.
However, rest assured our tone was strong after these many mistakes, poor
attitudes and then told we would not be allowed to speak to the owner to try to
resolve the unfinished work. Poor work from last Sept, and now this?
The next day we called back calmly and tried to
resolve what they did, so we could have heat in the home as a cold front was
coming in at 40 degrees at night, and they flat out refused to have any
resolution.
I apologized several times to the service manager about any misunderstandings, even though they were 4
days late and forgot to bring the replacement part with them. After it was clear they did
not care, I asked them why would they behave this way as I would consider
giving them a bad rating in Angie's List. Burgess said if I gave them a bad
rating in Angie's list. Burgess clearly threatened that they would post negative things about my family all over
the internet, everywhere if I posted about this.
Have some people in America
lost their minds today? It is just an AC repair. What are they thinking? Any we
begged to speak to the own at Burgess to patch things up before they kept
getting worse. Who knows where the owner of Burgess even is.
We called another Trane AC dealer and told them what
happened and asked to hire this second company. The second Trane dealer, ?Palm
Harbor Heating and Air?, first said that once a Trane dealer like Burgess
starts the job and leaves parts on the garage floor like they did, that another
dealer could not do the warranty work. They left the old parts on the floor and
left because they forgot to bring the new replacement parts. We got the second
dealer to have permission from Trane to take over the job, but the second
dealer, ?Palm Harbor Heating and Air? first called Burgess whom he personally
knew the people there. Burgess appeared to have slandered our name to them to
try to prevent us from receiving any service. We called Trane for help about
all this mess.
Calling Trane, merely upset Burgess even more. The second dealer confirmed that
Burgess had said unfounded things about us to try to leave us hanging with a
broken Trane A/C unit.
Palm Harbor Heating and Air said they would come over an fix the AC under warranty but they demanded a
whopping $1,000 cash paid up front on Friday and the work would be done the
next week. They refused a check, they refused a credit card. They wanted 100%
cash that was to be picked up them, but no work for days later. They said this
was all because of what Burgess had said to them about us.
There was no way we were going to pay $1,000 up front for work that would not
even be started that day. We offered to pay $1,000 up front on American Express
versus meeting his demands for ?cash? only to protect ourselves from any
potential contractor scams. Palm
Harbor Heating and Air
refused payment by credit card.
Burgess was not paid and they said no money was due at all. ?LOL? that is
because they forgot to bring and install the AC part that Trane had under
warranty.
Burgess A/C and Palm Harbor A/C knew a cold front was coming into Tampa Bay
where we had no heat for almost a week since the Burgess nightmare started. We
refused to be taken advantage of by either of these companies. It was 40 degrees at night when then pulled this.
We ended up calling another Trane Dealer, who did the work for $525. That
dealer was Millian-Aire A/C. They came out with the brand new coil in less than
3 hours, offered great professional service.
Burgess Heating and Air is clearly out of control, and Palm Harbor Heating and
Air clearly attempted to take advantage of us, where we followed our gut
feeling and ran from Palm
Harbor heating and
Air.
They BOTH receive an ?F?, while
Millian-Aire A/C receives ?AAA+?.

left the entire weather panel off the outside AC unit with the screws in the
grass and they forgot their own screw driver in the dirt. When I called them to
come back, it took them two weeks to come back to put it back together as they
lost the screws for the weather cover and left internal components and
component electrical wires exposed to the weather and lawn guys with weed
whackers. Bad attitude.
The replaced a part under warranty but I had to pay for the labor
