Title: Impressive Service and Lifelong Customer I am thrilled to share my exceptional experience with Burgess Heating & Air. After enduring a frustrating month of waiting for another air conditioning company to fix our Trane unit, which was on backorder, we decided to seek a second opinion from Burgess. And boy, are we glad we did! Burgess's dedication to resolving our AC issue was truly remarkable. From the moment we reached out to them, their team demonstrated a level of commitment that surpassed our expectations. They understood the urgency of our situation and wasted no time in addressing it. Within a short span of time, they had our unit back up and running efficiently. Not only did Burgess provide top-notch service, they also charged $500 less than the previous company we had dealt with. This cost savings was a pleasant surprise, and it further solidified our trust in their integrity. Our experience with Burgess Heating & Air has been nothing short of exceptional. Their dedication, efficient service, transparent pricing, and outstanding customer care have earned them a customer for life. If you are in need of heating and air conditioning services, I highly recommend Burgess Heating & Air. They are a company that truly values their customers and goes above and beyond to deliver stellar results.

Having used this company for the past 16 years, I expected much, much better service. My Trane Heat Pump/AC (the second one installed by this company over the years) failed after 15 months. Burgess said that the part was unavailable. After repeated calls over the following days and getting an "obviously we're looking for the part" response, I contacted other AC companies and found one that got the part and repaired the air handler. After almost 2 weeks, I still haven't heard from Burgess. $125 service call. Unbelievably bad customer service.

Perfect. Very reliable company. 10+ stars on this job. 3rd system we've had installed by them. Located in Oldsmar, Florida. John, the sales guy, and Randy the owner are very good at what they do!

After having 5 estimates, I contracted Burgess to install a 2 ton Trane system in my condo. They gave me a very reasonable price. Everyone I was in contact with (receptionists, service department, sales, technicians) in the company were courteous and professional. The install was smooth and efficient as Dennis and Kevin were very knowledgeable and proficient, completing the work by noon. They were extremely careful to cover and protect the flooring, and left everything clean, They had a checklist of things to go over with the customer to make sure I was satisfied with the install. They also explained all components of the system, warranties, and servicing of the system. The county inspector commented that they do quality work, as some other companies have to return to correct problems found during inspection. I would highly recommend Burgess as they are a competent, consumer friendly company.

Everything went extremely well EXCEPT for the price of refrigerant. They came quickly. Came when they said they would. Called ahead and sent an absolutely wonderful technician who did an extremely thorough job finding and repairing a pinhole leak in our heat pump. The issue we had with refrigerant is that AHS would pay the first $10/pound but Burgess charged $70/pound. A little online research found that Burgess is paying no more than $4 or $5 per pound. I called several other local AC companies and found the price for R-410 varied wildly from $25 - $65 per pound but NO ONE charged as much as Burgess. Yes, I could have gone with another company but that would have been expensive after AHS had already sent out Burgess. Fortunately for us, our system needed only 2 pounds of R-410. But this could have become very expensive, very quickly.

Great overall. We had used them before and they were excellent. They gave us a bid and we accepted and scheduled for the work to be completed. The crew arrived on time, was professional, and completed on time. However, this was a different crew than before and the work had to be checked and issues brought up that needed corrected before we would sign off on the completion.

That is the reason I gave 2 b's. Although it appears both air conditioners are finally up and running it did take a while to get there. The new unit had some problems at the start but when James came on the third call it appears all is now fixed but it was frustrating to get a new unit and have problem 3 times in 2 weeks. I must say though that Burgess stood behind their product. Trane system. Came u til it was repaired and also did offer me 2 yearly AC tune up service next year at the end of AC season for free and apologized for all the problems. I know things can happen and nothing is perfect so as long as a company stands behind the work and doesn't just brush you n that is a reputable company. If my AC systems make it through the next summer season and I do get me 2 free tune ups I will come back and change my review to all A's. Thanks Gail for taking care of me and showing such concern.

Good experience. They were really good. It’s a good company. I’d say their price is fair. Professionalism is what puts them over the top. Even though they’re a little more expensive, they’re a good company.

Couldn't have been any better. They arrived within window they said and started right to work. When they were done the area was cleaner than when they started. One small hic-up but they were out the next day to correct it. As it is said misery loves company just 5 months later I had to replace the AC at a rental property I own in Clearwater. Again an excellent job at that site also. I have no problem recommending Burgess for any AC/Heating problem you may be experiencing. Below price was for both units.

Tech said NO leak in Air Handler in attic or AC. Lie ONE. Put on written estimate that compressor needs "opened up"?? Compressor is a sealed system! Lie Two. Left after less than ONE hour and said would return tomorrow. Lie Three. Told AHS to get someone else. All this after he took $100 for service call. If you see Burgess coming towards your house - LOCK THE DOORS. They are typical Florida HVAC crooks. BBB knows of them well.

They could have got it right the first time. I think they charged me for something I didn’t need. Get different quotes. I have nothing to compare their price. They charged me $200 for a part I didn’t need. The quality was good. They were very professional. I would use them again because they put it in to begin with and they repaired it and they know the ins and outs of the unit.

It's really really hard for me to say you have been in the situation where you think back and go it wasn't perfect but I just can't put my finger on it. I'm trying to think if this was the scenario where they had to come back a second time they didn't find the fault in the first place I think it was.

I was a loyal customer for 15 years and bought two complete units from them. Had service for my unit for clogged condensate drain which was not fixed. Call for service as my unit would not run for more than 15 minutes without cutting out due to filled condensate line. They told me they could not service it until three August days later. The office staff was rude. Their call hold message blabs on about customer service being a priority. What a joke. I'll never use them again.

I used this company for warranty work in Sept 2015, and at

my bad decision, I used them again for new warranty work in Jan 2016. They came

out to see why the AC failed. The AC coil, that was only 5 years brand new had

established a hole where the coolant had leaked out. The AC coil was under

warranty, but I had to pay for labor. They quoted $960.00 in labor costs to

replace the coil. Trane Warranty Dept asked me to have them fax Trane their

paperwork for their work from September for some unknown reason. Burgess said

they would that day. However, they never did.

Burgess was to come back with the new coil on a Monday, but did not show up for

the repair until Thursday.

When they finally showed up, they removed the old

coil from the AC unit, only to discover they FORGOT to pick up the new replacement coil.  This is a part that is 3 feet long and 2 feet wide....yet they "forgot it" after showing up 4 days after their scheduled date.

I found out from Trane that they never faxed

the previous warranty work forms Trane asked from them either which I spent

well over an hour on the phone with Trane about since Burgess did not send

Trane anything. When I called and spoke to Burgess?s office, they were rude and

they suddenly claimed that they do not send paperwork to Trane. When I asked

for Burgess to call Trane and provide them with what they needed, Burgess AC

staff were very rude and unprofessional.

When I called Burgess back about coming to my home late off schedule by 4 days

and then forgetting to bring the replacement part to fix my AC, after I had

waited two weeks to fix the AC unit, they called me back 30 minutes later and

said they decided not to finish the work.

They left the old AC coil and parts on the garage floor. We called very calmly

and asked to speak to the owner, of which their staff including their Service

Manager said they do not know when the owner would be in the office for

that day, for that week or that month and he was not taking messages.

At no time did myself or family yell, name call or cuss at any of these people.

However, rest assured our tone was strong after these many mistakes, poor

attitudes and then told we would not be allowed to speak to the owner to try to

resolve the unfinished work.  Poor work from last Sept, and now this?

The next day we called back calmly and tried to

resolve what they did, so we could have heat in the home as a cold front was

coming in at 40 degrees at night, and they flat out refused to have any

resolution.

I apologized several times to the service manager about any misunderstandings, even though they were 4

days late and forgot to bring the replacement part with them. After it was clear they did

not care, I asked them why would they behave this way as I would consider

giving them a bad rating in Angie's List. Burgess said if I gave them a bad

rating in Angie's list. Burgess clearly threatened that they would post negative things about my family all over

the internet, everywhere if I posted about this.

Have some people in America

lost their minds today? It is just an AC repair. What are they thinking? Any we

begged to speak to the own at Burgess to patch things up before they kept

getting worse. Who knows where the owner of Burgess even is.

We called another Trane AC dealer and told them what

happened and asked to hire this second company. The second Trane dealer, ?Palm

Harbor Heating and Air?, first said that once a Trane dealer like Burgess

starts the job and leaves parts on the garage floor like they did, that another

dealer could not do the warranty work. They left the old parts on the floor and

left because they forgot to bring the new replacement parts. We got the second

dealer to have permission from Trane to take over the job, but the second

dealer, ?Palm Harbor Heating and Air? first called Burgess whom he personally

knew the people there. Burgess appeared to have slandered our name to them to

try to prevent us from receiving any service. We called Trane for help about

all this mess.

Calling Trane, merely upset Burgess even more. The second dealer confirmed that

Burgess had said unfounded things about us to try to leave us hanging with a

broken Trane A/C unit.

Palm Harbor Heating and Air said they would come over an fix the AC under warranty but they demanded a

whopping $1,000 cash paid up front on Friday and the work would be done the

next week. They refused a check, they refused a credit card. They wanted 100%

cash that was to be picked up them, but no work for days later. They said this

was all because of what Burgess had said to them about us.

There was no way we were going to pay $1,000 up front for work that would not

even be started that day. We offered to pay $1,000 up front on American Express

versus meeting his demands for ?cash? only to protect ourselves from any

potential contractor scams. Palm

Harbor Heating and Air

refused payment by credit card.

Burgess was not paid and they said no money was due at all. ?LOL? that is

because they forgot to bring and install the AC part that Trane had under

warranty.

Burgess A/C and Palm Harbor A/C knew a cold front was coming into Tampa Bay

where we had no heat for almost a week since the Burgess nightmare started. We

refused to be taken advantage of by either of these companies. It was 40 degrees at night when then pulled this.

We ended up calling another Trane Dealer, who did the work for $525. That

dealer was Millian-Aire A/C. They came out with the brand new coil in less than

3 hours, offered great professional service.

Burgess Heating and Air is clearly out of control, and Palm Harbor Heating and

Air clearly attempted to take advantage of us, where we followed our gut

feeling and ran from Palm

Harbor heating and

Air.

They BOTH receive an ?F?, while

Millian-Aire A/C receives ?AAA+?.

They did warranty work on my new Trane 20i 5 ton AC unit and
left the entire weather panel off the outside AC unit with the screws in the
grass and they forgot their own screw driver in the dirt. When I called them to
come back, it took them two weeks to come back to put it back together as they
lost the screws for the weather cover and left internal components and
component electrical wires exposed to the weather and lawn guys with weed
whackers. Bad attitude.
The replaced a part under warranty but I had to pay for the labor
