"Awful. Bob Dewhurst started the job on March 1, 2021. Was supposed to take 3-5 days. As of May 27, 2021 he has not completed our bathroom and the work that has been done needs to be redone. Shower pan leaks, Onyx walls are bowing, there is a crack in one of the Onyx walls that his crew tried to hide from us with silicone. We have paid him money and he will complete job. If you use him make sure you have an attorney on retainer."

The most common reasons to refinish a tub are: outdated colors (avocado, pink, sea foam green to name a few), damage, rust and a dull finish. These are all remedied in just a few hours with our refinishing process. After refinishing, you have a tub with a smooth glossy finish that will stay looking great for years and is easy to maintain. The kitchen is the gathering place for today's busy families. Countertops have a big impact on the overall appearance and value of your home. Problem areas are fixed and a completely new, easy to clean, low maintenance, semi-gloss topcoat is applied. The result is a brand-new looking kitchen with attractive, durable counters. Refinishing a bathroom sink usually completes the transformation into a showcase bath. Outdated color is a very common reason for refinishing. Professional spot repair services are available for fixtures that are chipped or cracked, but do not need complete refinishing. Is your tub or shower bottom cracked and leaking ? You can't just let it go!

"Lazaro came to refinish and reglaze my tub. He is a delightful man, I will say that up front. He told me on the phone the job would take 4 hours. I've had this done before in Ky and was charged $350 and it took 2 days. I was charged extra for sanding off some peeling finish, a total of $550. I asked if it would be a really terrific job, he said yes, for paying so much extra. When he arrived, he said he'd be here about 3 hours, I thought that certainly doesn't sound like enough time to do all the steps. The finish isn't smooth at all, and there is a large spot near the drain handle that is gray or blue? There are lots of round dots that are gray or blue showing through the white, the white isn't uniform at all. Many places without enough glaze. There is glaze 1-2" up my tile on the shower walls. He didn't remove the drain ring, and just painted over it, and told me to use a rubber plug. ??? I had my plumber coming to replace the drain so it would all be fresh and new. I'd like to attach photos but I don't see that option. I'd waited YEARS for a company to do this service in this area. I'm super disappointed with the job and I can't recommend him. Go without, get a new tub, but don't trust this process to make you happy. I paid $200 extra for sanding and considering he spent even less time than he told me he would, he obviously didn't take the time to do the job properly. This is an old enameled iron tub and was well worth saving vs replacing or the liner option. I've been unable to find anyone else that does this. I'm in the Banner Elk zip code. I had great hopes and couldn't be more upset about the result. I just took photos, I've been out of town since he finished and just got my 1st up close look, he didn't even remove the drain lever cover and didn't repair the enamel under the cover! He got out of here fast, I see why. I couldn't see the complete result as he was standing by the tub when I went in and hadn't removed the tarps etc. I also had 2 other people here I was meeting with when he finished. I hope you can find another person to do your repair and reglaze."

Bathtub Restoration questions, answered by experts

If your Corian® countertop begins to appear dull or dirty, or you notice scratches on the surface, you can return it to its original finish while maintaining its look. To do this, repair any scratches with a repair compound and sand the surface after it dries.

Then, use an orbital sander with either a 100-, 30-, or 15-micron disc and finish with a hand pad (like Scotch-Brite™ 7447 or 7448) or lamb’s wool bonnet and automotive cutting compound for a matte, semi-gloss, or gloss-finish, respectively.

The reglazed tub won’t last as long as a brand-new bathtub. Professional reglazing jobs can only last up to 15 years.

According to most pros, you can only reglaze a tub once or twice. So, if you’ve already reglazed your tub once, it might not be a realistic solution.

Some chemicals used in reglazing a bathtub can be dangerous to your health. If you’re DIYing the project, ensure the room is ventilated, and always wear a mask. If you hire a contractor, make sure you get the clearance to use the bathroom again.

A bathtub liner is a one-piece insert that goes on top of your tub to conceal cracks, blemishes, and discoloration. Liners are made from acrylic or PVC plastic. It’s best to purchase a custom bathtub liner that matches your existing tub's size, shape, and contours, but premade liners are less expensive and also get the job done. Some bathtub liners come with a wall or shower surround to refurbish the area above the bathtub.

Reglazing a bathtub can last as few as three years and up to 15 years. With proper application, the recoated surface is as durable as a brand-new tub. Clean your tub properly and avoid using abrasive cleaners to maintain the coating. If the weather conditions were cold or humid during resurfacing or the tub was significantly damaged, the reglazing may not last as long.

Persistent leaks, outdated styles, or surface damage are indicators for a replacement.
