I’m Gil, an artist who loves all things creative, from the process of visualized conception to getting my hands dirty in the act of executing the project. I describe myself as a creative designer, due to the versatility and broad spectrum of my skill set and experience – I have worked in the fields of interior and graphic design, designed and executed display windows in New York, have been recognized as an abstract painter, muralist and portrait photographer. Creating custom designs is a specialty of mine and by allowing a client’s own personality to be the inspiration; my creative process is fueled with the knowledge that I am being given the opportunity to create a “one of a kind” design for my clients. When I was a boy I loved art, archaeology, and my pets and have always been inspired by the natural environment that surrounds us all…. Some things never change. I grew up on a cattle and horse ranch in Mississippi. When I was in school, I couldn’t wait for any chance I could find to create art. I liked all things aesthetic; painting, photography, interiors, clay, woodworking…you name it. I studied fine arts and have enjoyed working with various mediums, from acrylics to computer graphic programs, I consider myself as an artist/creative designer, and feel I am at my best when I pursue my goals with this in mind. My first post-art-school job was in the Visual Merchandising department of Ivey’s in Charlotte, North Carolina. I then moved to New York to become the Director of Window Design and Main Floor Promotion with Macy’s Herald Square, New York. Since that time I have pursued creative endeavors in all aspects of my talents. My abstract art works are interpretations of nature – from how light plays in a sunset, to how moss grows on a rock, and they hang in homes and galleries throuout the Southern and Western United States. Graphic design is another one of my passions – using color and form to transform the page into a dazzling display that excites and makes one think. As an Interior designer, I bring all of my aesthetics from my art, into the design of a home. My passion for creativity is only equaled in my desire to inspire clients to love what I design for them. I hope to inspire a love of art and a reaction of joy in all things I create.
