I am a Certified Color Specialist who can turn color selction into a fun and rewarding process. I am an active member of the Interior Design Society which is a noted national Interior Design organization. I am licenced in the state of NC and can do business worldwide. My design theory reflects the process as being a collaborative effort where your input is respected, appreciated and valuable. Jacki is an exceptionally talented designer with a great eye for color, texture and space. She worked seamlessly with a team of vendors, including the builder, to complete a whole house project, which included 2 kitchens, 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and all interior living spaces. She was very responsive to us as clients and worked well with our whole family to incorporate everybody's ideas and preferences.

"Thank you,[ member name removed], for your review. It has been almost 2.5 years since we worked together, so you can imagine my surprise to receive this review. In 2011 when I met with you, you did not have children. You and your husband requested a beautiful bar area under your staircase for your wine, liquor and glassware. Every detail of a design plan must be approved by the client before anything is ordered or implemented. You approved everything that was installed prior to any order being placed for any item. At the time of completion, I was under the impression by your comments that you were very happy with the outcome. I know that you were disgruntled due to a couple of pieces ordered ending up on backorder by the manufacture. However, I did offer to find replacements or refund your money. You did decline this offer and decided to wait on these pieces that you saved 35% off of retail by purchasing through me. For the other issues, I wanted to look up all of the invoices and project notes in an effort to properly respond to your comments. I charged you for a total of 1 hour for project management on 11-4-2011, totaling $85. This was much less time than I actually spent on this task but my role in project managing was to: a)set up a quote from the contractor; b)meet the contractor at your home to go over the project; c)discuss the design elements of the project and work offsite with the contractor prior to installation to ensure a successful installation; c)schedule the work to be completed; d)check in on the work after completion. You were upset that I was not onsite while the installation was taking place, however, this is not something that I typically do, did not commit to doing and did not charge you for. In fact, I gave you an additional $100 credit on 9-26-2011 on top of the $100 Angie's List Referral Promotional Credit I gave you on 9-1-2011. So, in effect, you did not even pay for project management. People typically hire a decorator or designer because they are looking for new ideas and want to achieve a space that they do not feel like they can do on their own. The colors that I show clients are always open to discussion and change if the client is not happy with the choices. It is never a "my way or the highway" situation and I most certainly have never suggested to a client that I would walk off of a job and quite honestly take issue by the fact that you are suggesting such. I do agree that budgeting can be very challenging. Oftentimes, people have not shopped for home furnishings in today’s market. In order to serve my clients better and manage their expectations, I now require clients to furnish a clear and reasonable budget prior to the commencement of design work. This way, I can ensure that we are on the same page and able to work together towards the ultimate goal. I feel that I worked very hard to make you happy and that is always my ultimate goal. However, as a small business owner (and mother of 4) I know that it is not possible to please everybody 100% of the time. Please accept my apologies for not meeting your expectations."

She was good about gathering your ideas and translate them into a design. There were certain things I would not have done without her. She knows design and color schemes. She brings your ideas to life. It was a great experience design wise. She was able to work within the perimeters of the budget I laid out.

Jaclyn is amazing! We recently moved to Charlotte and bought a house that needed a lot of interior updating. We found Jaclyn through Angie's List and, after meeting with her for an initial consultation, hired her. What a great decision! She has completely transformed our house into a beautiful, yet comfortable, home. She has been so wonderful to work with and has an easy-to-talk-to manner. I would recommend Jaclyn in a heartbeat!

Right away, I felt Jaclyn understood exactly what I wanted for our master bedroom, particularly, and the other smaller areas as well. In addition to being incredibly professional, Jaclyn is also incredibly kind and friendly. I think what my husband and I liked most was the way she pieces together a room and simplifies the process for her clients. From our initial discussion of budget, and what we hoped to accomplish within that budget, she then put together a digital design plan. After that -- she brought over fabric samples and pictures of furniture pieces and accessories that would complete the room. I love that she didn't bring an incredible amount of choices -- just a few based on our initial discussion of favorite colors and patterns -- so that the final decision wasn't overwhelming. Jaclyn was very conscientious about staying within budget -- so if I fell in love with one piece that was more expensive, she would find creative ways to be more budget friendly in other areas to balance the cost out. Installation day was one of my favorite days living in this house -- our room was completely transformed into a gorgeous, peaceful, elegant escape!! I am looking forward to working with Jaclyn again soon! I highly recommend working with her -- you will not be disappointed!

Jaclyn is wonderful. The finished product is gorgeous and the process was smooth. I wanted a lighter, brighter, updated bedroom and that is exactly what I got. She listened to our requests, provided great customer service, and designed a gorgeous bedroom. I would choose Jaclyn again. In fact, I already have. She is working on my living room now!

We recently moved to Charlotte from Chicago and needed help furnishing and decorating our very first house! My husband and I are both challenged when it comes to decorating so we decided to enlist the help of a professional. Jaclyn was very responsive and agreed to come within the same week for a consult. I felt as though she listened to my needs and desires for each space and worked within my timeline as much as possible. Within 8-10 weeks we were able to finish the majority of three rooms and have over 2/3rds of the house painted! I love the paint colors she selected and I am very happy with the finished product. She even spent an entire day placing and hanging pictures/items throughout the entire house--a task that would've taken me days! She helped to make the main rooms of our house a calm, comfortable home and I am appreciative of her work. I will definitely use her to help put finishing touches on the rest of the house.

Jaclyn came out to the house to see the kitchen and to listen to what I was wanting to do. Not being gifted with putting colors/styles together, I needed her to make sure i didn't make any mistakes! I asked Jaclyn to present to me 3 tile options that would go with my kitchen and granite selection and i think we have hit a home run.

We hired Jaclyn to help us redecorate our master bedroom and we’re very pleased with the end result. Jaclyn had a great vision for the room and was able to effectively work with some of the existing furniture in the room that we didn’t want to change. Despite some of my initial hesitation on selections that were outside of my comfort zone, in the end I think she was right on - the room looks great with all of the various elements pulled together. I am very detail oriented and like to ‘see’ things visually come together, so Jaclyn was open to providing samples and pictures from her other clients in order to give me a greater comfort level before I ordered some of the items. Jaclyn kept in regular communication and was organized in providing written documentation of her selections. I also had a good experience with her installers when they came to hang our window treatment. Overall, Jaclyn was very professional, produced a great end result and we look forward to using her again on other projects in our home.

working with jaclyn has been a fantastic experience! i highly recommend her! jaclyn and i met at my home and talked about how i wanted to change my foyer, dining room and front room. i had prepared a file of photographs from magazines to show her things i liked. we walked thorough my entire house, looking at what i already had. she made suggestions about how i could change paint color to get the project jump started. she asked about my timeline and budget. i was really impressed with how professional she was, but also very open to my ideas. about a week later, we met again. at this meeting, jaclyn presented her design plan for the front room. she brought along samples of paint, rugs, and fabric. she also had photographs and catalogs of furnishings and lighting fixtures. together we decided on the items that would go into the front room and foyer. i liked that she had taken my ideas into account, but had also made the design more sleek, sophisticated, and just cool. soon after, she emailed me a spreadsheet with the project timeline and budget. i really liked that the project was broken down into phases ( i am doing this project over the course of a year). it was also great to she that she had listened to me about cost and had kept everything within budget. additionally, the budget showed the professional discounts she would be able to get for me. no more paying retail!!! woo hoo!! since the project has begun, jaclyn has been a great resource. she has delivered fabric to my house, called paint stores for me, emailed me regularly, and stopped at my house to see how things look. i email her photos of things as they are finished. here is a great example of what i like about her: i wanted a new table for the foyer and jaclyn had researched several and emailed them to me. but when she visited my house , she took one look at a table i already owned and gave me advice on how to fix it up to acheive the look i wanted. i used my existing table and spent $15 on supplies to fix it up. that saved me from buying a $400 new table! my husband thought it was a brand new table when he saw it. jaclyn's pricing is very fair and reasonable. i have gotten great quality of service from her and would highly recommend her. she has a fantastic design sense and has made my house go from "nice" to "WOW".

Jaclyn Erhlich is one of the most talented professionals that my husband and I have ever met. Jaclyn is incredibly professional from the initial meeting throughout the entire engagement. She is honest, trustworthy and reliable. She has an exceptional ability to assess the needs of her client, the project before her and the budget she has to work with, and easily delivers successful results throughout. She was able to sift through the limited and vague information that we gave her and helped us define and evolve our style beyond what we ever even imagined. She then used her numerous connections and relationships to provide us with quality goods and services at a fraction of what they would have otherwise been, in essence paying for her own fees in the savings that she afforded us! She is very cost efficient and budget conscious and able to find and deliver exactly what you and/or she is looking for without sacrificing quality. Her taste and style is impeccable, whether it matches your own or not. She is truly a huge resource and we cannot even begin to compare her to the other professionals that we interviewed who called themselves 'designers' or 'decorators' and charged similar fees. Not one person or firm that we interviewed matched the level of skill, style and professionalism that Jaclyn possesses. We originally hired her with a fixed budget for a fixed area of our home, and once we saw the results we begged her to do the rest of our home! I would never again decorate without her and recommend to anyone her hands down.

Before Jaclyn my house was boring beige, now it is full of warmth and color! Jaclyn was invaluable at helping hang pictures. She grouped pictures up my stairway in a wonderful collage. Most importantly she listened to what I wanted and used what we had to design with. Shel helped me pick out new accessories to compliment our designs. She helped guide my decisions in a way that made my home a wonderful place to come home to!

Jaclyn interviewed us and provided a decorating plan for the entire house that reflected our personalities and lifestyle. She provided a wide range of color palettes. She made recommendations and provided explanations of why a color or idea would work better done a different way.

I've used Angie's list companies before in many different cities, and after doing a lot of research I placed trust that Jaclyn's work would meet our expectations. She went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. She listened carefully to what our goal was for the space, she asked questions about what our decorating tastes were and she created a plan and design that we wouldn't have gotten to on our own. She also incorporated a lot of our existing furniture. She added in some great surprise elements and at no time did we feel pressure that we "had" to include them in the final plan. We felt extremely comfortable entrusting Jaclyn with our design due to her responsiveness. Her pricing is very fair and she was clear and upfront on how to save money within our budget by ordering online through links she provides. It's evident she prioritizes customer service and we are extremely happy. We are very excited to bring her design to life over the next few weeks to give our girls a space of their own in order to reclaim some of the main floor living space as our own. I'd highly recommend Jaclyn.
