"Wonderful we have used All about plumbing in the past and they are great. Richard and Corey were on time and gave us a clear idea of what needed to be done. Very quick and efficient and they were able to fix a leaking toilet while they were here. We will always use them in the future."

"We just changed to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.  The reason for is we had to replace a water heater and they came in with a bid that was way lower than Four Seasons, Four Seasons is pretty expensive.  They were here about three weeks ago.  It was 3300 dollars.  Compared to others the price is good.  The quality was good.  They have real good responsiveness.  They came out on Labor Day weekend.  They had to come out once and it could have been done right the first time.  They were here probably six months ago. "

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, and no. Your shower, toilet, and sink all connect to the same main drain, but the secondary drains going from each fixture to the main drain are usually separate. This isn’t always the case—especially in older homes—but since toilets contain black water and showers, tubs, and sinks have grey water, toilets are more regulated and come at a greater risk of contamination. It’s best to keep these drains separate using individual waste collection for this reason.

The most practical and common setup is a toilet that connects with the sewer line or a septic tank. However, it is possible to install a toilet without a sewer line, and this can be particularly helpful in basements with no or outdated plumbing. An increasingly popular option is an environmentally friendly composting toilet. Other waterless options include incinerating or dry flush toilets, which pull the waste into an airtight container.

The best way to stop your toilet bowl from sweating is to increase ventilation and get rid of the humidity in your bathroom. You can do this in a number of ways. Sometimes, cracking a window or running your exhaust fan is enough. You can also run an air conditioner or install a dehumidifier

While a leak may seem small, even a gentle trickle of consistent moisture can lead to mold problems in your bathroom. Make sure you know how to check for mold if your toilet has been leaking for a while. Pooling water by your toilet also poses a risk for someone slipping on the slick floor of your bathroom. Finally, a leak of any size can lead to water waste that increases your water bill.

Sealant doesn’t need to be applied to the bolts, but it can be a good way to stop an active leak in the moment. However, don’t rely on it as a cure-all; instead, make sure to fix the problem at the source by changing or tightening the bolts.

If you do use sealant, make sure to spread it thickly and evenly across the bolts and the tank's porcelain.
